don't know the V8 sizes... but I made one for 4 cyl.

Top part could be replaced with a beam of wood.

On my 4 cylinder, the liners slid out with little effort!

On the 4 cyl, the cylinders are close together, closer than the normal O.D., so you can't use a puller than would overlap the next cylinder.  So a full round with a O.D. that matched the cylinder O.D. would not work for instance.

same is for V8, as you have to mention the oil-squirt nozzles, and that the liner base area in the engine block is restricted by the crankshaft bearing base -so there is a need for a gab on the sides, as well as a 'cut out' if you plan to let the oil-squirters in.  .. BILD0202.JPG

-outer base dimensions will come... if I can get out of the bed, today   ...it's some kind of holiday over here

so far inner (bore) size should be 83mm ish, as our pistons are made for a 83mm bore, as you can see the from the tech.-spec data of the 918 engine in your workshopbook, Alex.

see this BILD0180.JPG

-the more 'cheapish' way to do it, decades of Russian influence make things look more simple in Eastern Germany

..of course, I would kill for alloy material as Travis has available ;)

grab a block of wood.. and tap them out from the bottom. they slide out quite easily.
