Kimbers
Never worked for me when I walked in with a puppy. Mrs didn't like dogs. 13 years on she's still here (Mrs and Dog). Only reason I got away with the Esprit (again without telling her) was because it was my 40th Birthday and I told her I was having a mid-life crisis and it was better than another woman. She couldn't fault my logic there! The MT-01 Yamaha was one step too far though and that was sold a mere 8 months after buying it because my ears hurt. Love you Wendy (just in case she reads this!). 1 Quote Possibly save your life. Check out this website.http://everyman-campaign.org/ Distributor for 'Every Male' grooming products. Trevsked
I can see one of the highlights of the TLF BBQ will be the "Buy What You Want Boot Camp" seminar I'm running. ronin
When I drove my brand new Elise into the garage Toni opened the kitchen door and said, "what the fuck did you do". Kimbers
I'm currently using the "I need a toy and the choice is a Harley or Lotus" argument. I thought giving Wendy 2 choices would mean she would go with the car. Instead I got "Or none at all!"...........doh! Quote Possibly save your life. Jacques
A Harley what? Anyway, I think and I said that to my wife when we met at first, that the stereo, the hightower pc, all the bikes, the motorcycle and the sportscar etc. is going to stay. If she don't like me as I am, then go find someone else, as it'll be a long tough struggle for both, and it shouldn't be. On the other hand, I don't put hanscuffs on her interests. Fpr example, my wife travels twice as many weeks as me every year, and have fun with her friends. And I don't Loose anything; in fact the opposite. What I wil say about it is this, that I naturally prioritize her instead of a dead object. But the Whole thing is not about objects; it's about supporting eachothers interests. As we grow older they may change, but so we support those instead. Mutural respect. Fair enough if someone changes his or her mind and just plain Looses interest and Sells the car or what ever, but many of my friends sold their stuff and still dream about it many years later. In fact as most of them got divorced, they began to buy up the toys they like: the big stereo, the LP player, the motorcycle, the expensive Watch, the sportscar etc. and it's not because they are in a midlife crisis. That is something a bunch of women invented to get around their own problems. Cheers, Jacques. 2 Quote Nobody does it better - than Lotus
Guest Mutley00
I had a lucky escape when I told SWMBO 6 weeks ago I'd bought a Corvette, a car she has always hated during the 29 years we've been together. I think I was lucky in that when I broke the news, it was along the lines of what that Tory? spin doctor was caught out saying, in that when you've got to release bad news, make sure there's some worse news in the headlines. On the day I sheepishly came clean, SWMBO was dashing in & out the house doing radio and newspaper interviews for what was the debacle of The Sheffield Half Marathon (that never was). She's actually been for a ride in it now, so I definitely got off lightly - well if you call the comment 'What, only 180bhp from a 5.7 litre engine - that's pretty shit' getting off lightly! oneshot
We went to see the Sport 350 together. I then arranged for a test drive and came back saying I'd put a deposit on it and could I borrow some money! Luckily she said yes The downside is she reminds me occasionally that the car is part hers! Quote Dave - 2000 Sport

Vanya
I'm lucky in this regard....The missus comes from a "car family" and knows the score with boys and their toys. She recently gave her blessing to help with the possible purchase of a certain mint condition V8 Esprit.... Now...my conscience on the other hand...
