Sport 300 Brake mounting bracket sizes...

Can someone please lend me some info on them ? Front and back.

Ideally the hole spacing for the AP calipers and if possible their rough dimentions.

Failing that the diameter of the disks would help - if anyone can offer some measurements it would really help me - failing that I'll have to buy them (if I can get ahold of them) and see if they will work.

cheers

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA, YEAH RIGHT.

Sorry, I tried many years ago.

They were $6000 back then and are a discontinued part with none available, unless you rip them off a Carlton... The calipers and rotors are not the same as are avilable these days. Plus they weren't floating, so there are negatives to that (hats distort and cause bad pad knockback)

You'd still be better off buying a used set of NASCAR short track brakes like me (cheap used from a race team in the US). And design your own brackets (or I can if you want), and hats.

Superior caliper spec, and much less (especially for you from a $ to

Umm, no I'm just after the brackets (really) :)

I have calipers lined up but I'm either going to have to get new brackets made or see if I can grab some of these and alter them if they need to fit the disks I want to run.

jonathon,

Why do you want the S300 set up? It's so out of date now, there's plenty of other aftermarket companies doing better systems. When Lotus bought these from AP, these were probably something AP tried to off load or what Lotus could affrord. They even down spec'ed the pistons from titatium/aluminium/stainless steel to mild steel (I think). When a good source of mine tried to buy a recon kit and pistons from AP, they rolled about laughing when they discovered the pistons were steel.

Buy a kit direct from AP, Brembo or any other aftermarket manufacturer and you'll get a superb braking system. Not saying the S300 was anything less than superb but you have to ask yourself about how old the design was and what parts were put inot it to fit the budget?

Jonathon,

If you want to go the 300 route my car is available in Devon where you can survey the brakes, braces , turbo, ecu etc in detail. Preferably at a weekend.

We have ramps, air, all the tools, lighting heating and more. The security is a little tighter than the Factory but we could address that. :P

You need a pen and paper!

I have to ask myself - 'do I feel lucky'?
