Instrument bulbs change to leds

My fuel gauge bulb has blown.  As I need to remove the binnacle I could switch them all to leds however would they still adjust for brightness .  Has any one done this for a 88 onwards Stevens dash.

Yes, i've done it. Well worth doing impo as i'd hate to be taking the binnacle off for every duff bulb. Bit of trial and error getting polarities right for the leds, and the indicator tell tale will have to stay as an incandescent as it switches polarity. You can't adjust them for brightness though; they're either on or off.

Trickiest bit was finding a bulb for the speedo and tach which lit more than just a bright circle on part of the dial; eventually used tippex on the bulb to dim and disperse the light but have heard that using sandpaper on the plastic is a better option.
