I thought this may be of interest.

 

I was at the Bromley show last week and came across the TerraClean stall.

 

Enquired and booked the Elite for the procedure.

 

Pleasant chap turned up, plugged it in and sat chatting for an hour whilst his machine and the chemicals did their thing.

 

Result. Car pulling more cleanly and running a little cooler.  I have booked the car in for a tune on a rolling road. I did this last year and the BHP rose from 81 to 136 with cleaning the carbs, tuning and balancing, which I think is an impressive improvement.

 

Bearing in mind the car is 34 years old and done 65k, what would be a fair target point bearing in mind I am only 24BHP from the original 160.

 

Will post the new BHP Thursday. We could have a sweep on the result.

65K miles aint a lot rick. If the valve clearances are adjusted correctly, compression is what it should be and the carbs are clean and set (which yours are) then you can aim for 150-160 in my view. Bear in mind rolling roads vary quite a bit, so comparisons across different rolling roads are a bit meaningless on absolute numbers alone. Good to hear you feel a noticeable improvement in the car however, as thats what we all aim for.

 

My first eclat was in rude health, and the rolling road calculated an adjusted flywheel bhp figure of 155bhp. It had more miles on it than 65K at the time (I think).
