Father's Day british car picnic......first official outing

Recommended Posts

Well at last the eclat is official. Registered in BC , canada , passed road test and good to go. Made our target of the Father's Day car show in Victoria. Other than running a little hot, brakes a little soft, it held up well. Lots of interest from all folks, only eclat there.

Lotus fleet was

2 élan pus 2's

2 esprit , one standard turbo the other heavily modified v8, very well done with a 32 valve Cadillac motor

1 élan

2 Europa'

2 Elise

1 exige

And the eclat.

Cheers guys. Looks better from a distance. At least now it's running and road legal we have a platform to improve.. I replaced the springs and shocks all round, bushes and lower links. Sadly the front seats had to be replaced so used period gt racing fixed backs. I chickened out doing the rear brakes but found a great local garage. So on to the cooling before we can ventur too far from home!

Not many parts available here so sjs by mail are my parts life line.

Regards

Paul

Good to hear it is running Paul. If the fixed seats are a problem for access and you need to look at tippers:

I was chatting with John "the nut" last night about alternative seats. we know XJS seats are pretty much a straight fit as its been done by a few others on eclats and excels.

John is also measuring up seats from an MX5 (or a Miata on your side of the pond) and he seems to think it could be a possible fit. Definately worth some investigation perhaps?
