elite 2.2 wanted

Hello to everyone.

I'm looking for a car in good mechanical order with reasonable service record.

I don't mind if it's a bit tatty or in need of a respray. I'm in Bromley so anywhere in London or SE.

Welcome to our corner of the forum Paul.

As you will no doubt be aware - Elite S2's are rare. They do pop up now and then, but it is a case of scouring the classifieds on a regular basis. This forum has a good classified summary from ebay in this section (under for sale/ebay), so stick around and see what pops up. You should also keep an eye on classic cars for sale.

 

The bad news is that interest in elite's - particularly the S2's appears to be rising, and cars of any type - particularly the good ones, are in short supply.

 

Eclat S2's by contrast are much more plentiful as fashions had changed slightly in the early 80's, and eclat S2's were built and sold in much greater numbers than the elite S2, with the eclat then morphing into the eclat excel at which point the elite variant was discontinued all together while the eclat excel continued into the 90's.

 

My advice would be to persevere and try and find the car that you like the most, as compromising will always leave a taste of something that got away.

I've been watching the sales over the past few years and agree its a bit of a waiting game.

I don't think i want to compromise though so it's S2 all the way.
