Hi All,

After leaving it on the drive for nearly two years with no time found to

restore her I am going to get rid of my 79 S2 Lotus Esprit.

It is number 44, right hand drive and is in need of a complete restoration.

She has been off the road since the mid 1990's and has passed through

several people, who like me have just not had the time.

Currently she is 2/3 stripped, with engine and gearbox out. Interior seats

out, no carpet and a cracked windscreen. She is in need of a complete

rebuild

throughout, but is 95% complete. There is very little I have found not to be

present. Although many parts will need replacing.

Engine and gearbox appear to be in good condition, but I have no idea as

have run neither. Will need a complete re spray and re trim inside. Front

and

rear bumpers need replacing.

There are some new parts and the chassis seems straight and reasonable.

She really does need a lot of attention though, and I cannot emphasise this

enough.

It does have all the limited edition JPS plaques, steering wheel etc.

Although oddly it has ended up with one grey alloy with the three gold ones!

I just want to get shot in the next week, as I need the space for some

building work that is going to be done.

If you are seriously interested, please drop me an email and I will send a

couple of pictures.

Due to time and work constraints at the moment I would appreciate not too

many questions about the condition - I hope above is honest enough and clear

on what you would be buying.

I cannot break as I need it off the driveway!

I am in the UK in Wiltshire and as mentioned I would need it collected

within a week. It has 55k on the clock, but do not know genuine or not?

Also lots of owners (I think at least 8) I have the log book. No service

history.

Price is cheap - best offer over

Tony K. :)

cheap way of getting into a project :)

Figure a restoration project would be around 15KGBP, maybe half of that if you throw in all the labor yourself.

the guy should be giving it away to an enthusiast or it'll be off to the breakers

maybe Bibs should start a club museum

Nick is current highest bidder :)

... hmm I have just had a look at the address and it is located about 20 minutes from my parents' house. If anyone who is really thinking about bidding on it wants me to go and have a look at it for them on Saturday before close of auction and take a few photos etc. would be happy to. I am no expert but will be able to give you some details about any specifics that you are interested in. (Any excuse... :))

That's a good price. The parts alone would have been way more.

That can't be right as it was due to end on Sunday if I remember correctly. It probably ended early after someone gave him a load of cash!
