The beast is back, finally :)

Hi all,

as some already might know, I've bought a 1990 SE the end of July ; it finally took me a good 2 months to get the paperwork done (I'm from Belgium, imported the car from Holland), and finally got it back, so here first pics.

Car still needs to be simonized, and AWI's still to come (should be there in due time)

I already experienced lots of times that such a kind of car is a real head-turner, lots of peaople stick their thumbs up, most of them just stare while enjoying the view ... And I'm always ready to explain people what and how, and take kids for a ride in my black pearl ... B)

I get it serviced @ Lotus dealer in Waregem ; 150 km's away (and close to my family) , but the guy really knows every bolt of it ... His father started the garage 30 years ago, he took over ...

For small servicing (oil change, etc) ,I have my dad get it done, he used to be a car-mechanic.

Got the Euro-plates from work, working for Eurocontrol, Brussels ... but unfortunately I still have to pay fines

Looks really good, bit like mine only in Black . The exhaust system does look cool.... is it really noisy ??. I've got a big tail pipe on mine and when you go under an underpass the sound is amazing as it echos off all the walls . Hope you enjoy your new Lotus.

Sounds Cooooooooooool , you'll have to get someone at the side of the road to record an audio clip whilst you head off in to the distance for us all to hear .

Trade was pieace of cake, but get it on the road in Belgium was the major problem : as from 1996, Euopean cars have a Euopean certificate of conformity. But the car's from 1990 ...

Today I replaced the orange side lights by rectangular smoked pieces, will take some pics and post them soon ...

Needed to dremel a bit, but all went fine, still able to put back the original ones though, in case there's need for it ...

Not any pics yet, maybe tomorrow, depends on the weather

To spray the amber parts red, I used a spray from Foliatec (special spray for car lights), a can costs around 9
