Wheels needed for S1

Recommended Posts

As the restoration is getting towards the painting etc, my thoughts turn to the wheels.

Its got aftermarket Compomotives at the moment but, obviously, Wolfraces would be desirable!

I don't suppose any are available?? I always live in hope!

Would you like some rocking horse excrement to go with those?

eBay, LotusBits?

Happy hunting, Paul.

Oh you are funny!

Having said that...I bought a brand new Veglia cluster, now I thought that was unobtainium!

...will continue to hunt :)

Yeah hunting is half the fun - particularly when you turn up a bargain!

I spent 2 years looking for a set of engine cover straps and had tried everywhere. Then one day I was on the phone to Lotus Bits and mentioned I was after the proverbial rocking horse poo and believe it or not they actually had a cardboard box marked rocking horse poo and low and behold in there was a set of straps.

Cost me a fortune but that's life ;)

I may be wrong but I think Tony K has got a set but he's in the US. If not, he may know of some...

depending on how much you want to spend and how original you want the car to be? have you considered a custom set made by image wheels? they can make split rims that look like one piece cast alloys? you could also go to 16 inch rims and open up a much larger choice of tyres!

Apologies for the late response!

I have thought of getting them made here in OZ.

The basic style of jellybean wheel was a very common shape attached to Toranas and others.

Go to ebay.com.au and type in jellybean wheels...

Symonds Wheels use to make customs machined out a single billet, other still do.
