Freescan newbie

So - my freescan package arrived on Thursday (according to the postie who left a calling card) so I collected it yesterday, had a quick look at the booklet and fired up the laptop - slightly nervous at a book comment about Sony Vaio laptops not working properly through the com port (hoped mine would be OK running the USB version).

Went out to Lottie and almost dismembered the passenger footwell looking for the ECU socket, before realising mine had apparently been the ONLY SE built without one.

So had a root around the redundant glovebox (PO Gav had fitted a powered subwoofer in there) and not only found a readily extended cable terminating in a serial plug (which connects straight to the USB converter) but also a remote control for the sub - which means I can now tweak the music properly too!

Happy days - will clean the plugs (she's misfiring and popping like a rally car at present) and go for a hot run so I can do a log for people cleverer than me to interpret. Thanks LEW - and thanks Gavin!
