I fitted a pair of 3rd party DRL's because the having the headlights on all the time doesn't make sense (and the hedlight washers also come on every time you just want to clean the windshield).

Yes seen that thread thanks, but as I read it that relates to permanently switching existing lights for daytime use doesn't it?

Those white connectors don't seem to be on the early models, and I wanted to fit LED strip lights in the front bottom grills, rather than having lights on all the time.

Has anyone on the forum done this? as I've seen them fitted on an Evora.

IIRC they come on with every 10th (or something like that) time you use the windscreen washers.

This is what the manual says

" Headlamp powerwash

With ignition and headlamps on, the headlamp powerwash will be activated for a short burst at the first, and every subsequent fifth request of the screen wash switch.  Cycling of either the ignition or headlamp switch will reset this timing. "

Which is what makes it annoying whenever a single wash cycle for the windshiield would suffice.

Yes they do, but then you can't wash them when you need to. I much prefer the real DRL's anyway. Plus the LED'S draw significantly less current, which must equate to 0.01 MPG.  :welcome:

They are actually rather effective in cleaning the headllights, but do use a lot of washer fluid.

Oh, and its so hard to clean the headlights with a bucket/sponge while you're driving.  :smoke:

Part of me has wondered about doing that on the S4, but can't find anywhere to logically fit them that won't look dumb.

And no, it's not as simple as turning on the parking lights and running the fog lights here in Victoria. Apparently, that is actually illegal here unless there is fog.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.
