To remove it, you have to remove the oil pump, locking cylinder, olive, vacuum pump, and sump...

The strainer is brazed onto the pipe.   You'd have to use a torch to melt the brazing....  The olive is plastic, it would likely melt if you didn't remove the pickup pipe from the car.

 

See the line of brass looking material between the pipe and the strainer?  That is brass
