Hi Paul

Hope the collection went well. I think I parked mine in front of your new toy this morning. Sorry mine was a bit grubby :-)

In for its running in check.

So? How was the journey home?

On the whole it wasn't too bad, shame as I had to drive home in the dark which led to a few hairy moments down the country lanes to my house as I'm not used to its extra width over the elise yet, to be honest it felt like I was in my old Elise until I put the pedal down, lightly of course.

So I was relieved to get home and get her snug in the garage, it wasn't until I was admiring it that I noticed the below :(

Unbelievable, I'm guessing that it is left over from the garage build for the Elan, its really annoying as I had a good check over yesterday, looks like I may beat you Tom to the quickest puncture.

So what is the best procedure here, I guess pull it out and hope for the best? I'm pretty sure it is only a short screw, well here's hoping anyway.

Other than that it drove beautifully, even though I can't use the power yet it is great to feel it there ready and waiting :)

Noooo!

I think the only advice anyone will offer you is to change that tyre unless that is most of the screw visible and it's only like, less than 0.5mm into the rubber. They're low profile so chunky sidewalls but the risk of a blowout in such a quick car would cost me most of my confidence at speed.

Yes I think you are right Bibs, looks like a call to Aimee will be on the cards tomorrow, I guess this is one way to help get the miles up on engine, keep driving back and forth to the dealer.

I'll go an pull the screw out now and hope it doesn't deflate instantly so at least I can still drive it, carefully.

All booked on with the AA to go back to Lotus Silverstone tomorrow to have another tyre fitted.

I'll be getting a stiff broom out tonight just to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

Don't worry, just fit the space saver from the front boot!

:getmecoat:

In all seriousness, Lotus ASO prices for tyres are pretty monster. Might be worth a Google search, could save you a lot of cash!

What he said!

You could try Dave @ Seriously Lotus good price & great service in my experience.......

Hi all,

I'll do a proper introduction in a bit, but put a deposit down few days ago for number 72 (Elio de Angelis 1982, Austria).

p.s. I think Sizona was spotted last month in London by some random!

The car looks great on the road!

Today's the day

Have fun Smuzzy, look forward to hearing how you got on.

Just got back from the top guys and gals at Lotus Silverstone who sorted out my tyre issue really quickly, top job, wish I could say the same about the trip there on the low loader as the M1 was shut, took hours, just as well the AA guy was good fun.

Let LF1 ownership PT2 begin :)

Even though I've now got one in my garage I never get tired of looking at pictures of the LF1 :)

Nice one Smuzzy.

I've just spent a small fortune on detailing products for mine, here's hoping for a dry weekend.
