Is that a GoPro? If so, there's a setting that using centre weighted metering so the outside isn't overexposed all the time. I seem to remember it's a rectangle with a dot in the centre in the settings.

Nice driving though, looked like fun. How many times did you have to nip out to fill up with fuel?

Yes, I really need to sort that out, was a GoPro, I struggle with the settings... managed to find the narrow view which works better this time. Just noticed that I exported from Premier at low quality, uploading a better one.

Going to have a play now - this is a 3, looks like I've got the setting - thanks!

4 fills, 180 miles on track, exactly £1/lap with is also £1/mile! Plus another tank there and back... TBH I think the Elise would have been a far better car on Brands Indy.

I have a few with 3 camera's going at once, but they were early in the day and my lines were embarrassingly shocking, so will keep those as a learning reference!

Yea, we worked out at Silverstone a few weeks ago it was 5mpg. I actually try to keep away from the red line, so god knows what it would be like full beans. The bigger inconvenience is the amount of refuelling you need to do - really could do with a bigger tank. Not so bad at Brands as there are a couple of stations within a mile, but at Oulton when they only had the petrol open for 5 minutes every other hour we actually lost a lot of track time.

Not much to review as I've only driven about 30 miles in it. It's great to be back in Lotus though. It feels a lot like the Elise once you get it moving. At slow speed steering is noticeably heavier. On the road the car 'feels' bigger than an Elise. I can't wait to finish running in so that I can really see what it can do. One problem so far: when I got home and tried to lock the car it kept beeping at me and wouldn't lock. Eventually I found the front inspection cover wasn't properly shut. I shut it and then it locked but a few minutes later the alarm went off. I had the front cover off and figured out how to close it properly - it takes a very firm push to get it to lock properly. After that it locked OK with no false alarms. The roads were a bit dirty yesterday so it got dirty and I'd like to give it a clean but the people who applied the paint protection film said not to wash it for a few days.

^ If you've got reversing sensors make sure you clean them even if the rest of the car has to stay dirty for a while. Mine were covered in mud after a trip to Wales. I got a constant, flat-line tone from the sensors every time I engaged reverse until I cleaned them.

Don't forget to add your car to the registry if you haven't already :)

Probably been covered before but they are no longer EU compliant for road noise and resistance so I don't think they can be supplied on cars since the beginning of November, and from my personal experience over the last couple of weeks they are in real short supply at the moment.

Just in case.......

If anybody is struggling to get Trofeo's they are still available from Seriously Lotus!

Good price too..

Don't like the Trofeo's on the OEM rims (plus they wear to fast for my road mileage) so swapped to Corsa's for road use,

Trofeo's now on alternative wheels for track use, added bonus is they sit nicely on the rims & don't leave the outer rim exposed like they do on the OEM wheels..

Ah so you got one fitted, which one did you get and is it a nice clean install?

Currently Sector 111 harness bar (Seriously Lotus) as it's cold outside & it's incredibly easy/quick to fit!

Just unbolt the STD seat belt top fixings drop bar into place then refasten the top fixings,

Doesn't restrict the seats doesn't require the bulkhead cutting........

That said once the weather warms up I'll most likely fit a standard Lotus one as I have all the bits needed in the garage (somewhere) & like nothing more than spending a weekend taking the seats out, cutting bulkheads, generally cursing & removing skin from my hands/arms......

Actually thinking about it I'll either not bother or phone a friend.

The wheels came from Dave at Seriously Lotus, they are actually the 2nd set as the first came in the wrong shade of gold,

Now they have got the colour right they are currently only available in this colour from Dave & if you have an LF1 (need to quote the build number when ordering)

I didn't get anything quite like Richard for Christmas, love the wheels BTW, but I did have my own little LF1 moment, since deciding to go with Race win 7 a few months back, Jim Clark at Aintree, I have been keen to visit the old track to see what is there now.

We were visiting my In-Laws over Christmas and they live only 10 mins from Aintree so on Boxing day we ventured over, luckily it is extremely easy to get to as there is now a golf course in the middle, so we drove in and started to walk the course only for security to drive over and tell us we are not permitted on the track and we had to leave asap, a little pleading later we were in his Citreon Picasso as he took us around a lap, not quite the same as in the LF1 but still a great moment.

There is only around half the original course left nowadays but apparently during the summer they hold a SuperCar day that allows you to do timed runs so will definitely be attending that next year, be cool if we can get a few LF1's and Lotus's up there :-)

For anyone who is interested below is a couple of links to some great footage from the 1962 Aintree GP and a small piece Damon Hill did in the Lotus 25 at Aintree.

Cheers,

I meant to say that my wife bought me some cool LF1 inspired leather Photo Albums and wallets to put all my documentation and photos's in + she got an LF1 calendar made up, all very cool :-)

I treated myself to a Veloce Carcoon for the Elan, I'm hoping to put it up on Sunday, if I'm impressed I think I'll get one for the LF1 rather than putting a cover over it, anyone own one of these, any tips?

They still regularly have bike racing there. I used to race there - the track is quite grippy so it's pretty fast.
