Whatever dude, the fact remains this is the fastest Lotus Exige on the freakin planet and it came from a shed in bumfuck Ca.

Frank,

You come across well on the video, but to be honest you don't on the forum.

We all admire your car and the work that has gone into it, it is a work of art the enginering is superb and the styling is great. I thought you lived in Gods county of California USA, take a chill pill dude. The roads you have out there are 1000X better than any where I am.

Maybe it's the English sense of humour, but we only take the micky out of the people we like.

Lots of people do lots of things, not everyone is measured with your yardstick though mate.

All the same, you did come across completely differently in the video than you do on the internets :)

It's not me coming across differently on the internets because no one would play upity jack off to my face. I'm the same guy in person but I get pissed off when guys that don't do crap play internet hero and talk crap..

I'm the same guy in the video and on line..respect is not a given it's earned...

It is strange that there aren't many cars on the road but there was one day awhile back that I bitched about with all the SUVs in the twisties but one out of all the hundreds of runs is kinda wierd.....I just turned up the music and smiled..

Maybe it's the sound of the sucker comin down the road warning others to stay clear of a pissed off rocket pig headed their way, ehh I'm not gonna complain, I'll let others do that...

I do enjoy being able to drive the car as it should be driven..... :smoke:

You don't market a performance car by some wrapper in the trash bin, you show the performance to the target market.

I think they use the Bat signal to communicate..... It's still a Lotus and it gets more views than any all show and no go Swizzel Mansory crap to date...

Sorry your feathers are ruffled but it's a fact that the only press coming out of Lotus with your friend Swizzle promoting the brand positively is non existent..

Why would you think my feathers are ruffled and why would you think Swizz and I are friends? I'm fairly sure I've been more vocal than most with my thoughts on his relationship with Lotus and I don't recall saying anything favourable.

Stick to the facts Frank rather than incorrect speculation, makes more sense.

So let's play a game. How much has your car cost, what could you retail it at? If you think what you've done to your car is the ultimate Lotus, shall we see how many people would buy it at the price you could sell it for? Would more people buy your car or a Swizzmeister shiny red Evora GTE?

Proof of the pudding and all that.

Possibly an unfair question, Bibs, in that a "one off" example being compared to a "mass production" (albeit in small numbers to be sure, but nonetheless many more than Frank's singular effort) vehicle is not a true "apples to apples" analogy. Frank's "development costs" are significantly greater as a percentage of the saleable end product price versus spreading Lotus' costs over many more units. He would have to sell the car at a very large markup just to break even...which would limit total sales, and is your point I gather. Just my tuppence. Bracing for "incoming!" :)

Hence me adding the 2nd question, what 'could' you retail it for.

I'm guessing out of the box you'd be looking at close £100k even with manufacturing economy of scale.

Dude you're the Lotus suit here..

Seriously you post up that Lambo crap deflecting the fact that Lotus don't have a freakin clue in order to promote a sports car....

They piss money away on racing in cars that are clearly not produced by Lotus, they say they are into rally and yet the new V6 car isn't out there and the old Exige will blow it's doors off in rally..

Here's the facts 309,000+ views in a week from Drive 210,000 views from my own channel and thousands of other Lotus owners videos and what has Swizz done to promote the brand ?

Oh yeah they have nothing to sell in the US market except for a few over priced Evora.

As I said Google Swiz and Lotus and let me know how well that's worked out in the brand recognition department so far..?

Google search Swiz Beatz Lotus = About 771,000 results.

This is without tryin..

Google search worlds fastest lotus ?= About 27,600,000 results

Google ronin exige Lotus = About 4,330,000 results

Google ronin Lotus = About 4,000,000 results

Google Frank Profera Lotus = About 1,210,000 results

My point is that real car guys are interested in real cars not poser BS.. Lotus has always been a brand for real car guys..

I think it's fast enough…maybe

In a perfect world it would be most interesting to at least "test the waters" on its marketability. The "nibble number" would answer many questions regarding limited edition, almost concept car in nature, offerings.

Dude you're the Lotus suit here..

You think

Why does everything have to be an argument! Go look up 'independent' Frank, I'm not more a Lotus suit than anyone else on here! You don't seriously think Lotus have any actual input towards this site at all do you? Yes, they read the site a lot and some even participate and I speak to them very often but I don't work for them mate! They didn't even tell me they were listing TLF on their website until about 4 days beforehand and that was just a mention from their web guru, nothing official! They didn't even ask

Anyway, back on topic. Can you correlate youtube views into car sales? Is there any data on the matter? As I've already said, many times, I'm not a swizzle fan but people have bought his shiny GTE's, real people, real sales and how the Evora GTE (whatever colour) can't be considered as a car guy's car I don't know.

Dude the GTE is "not for sale" in the states so the six or less cars Lotus claim to have sold with the Swiz branding don't exist here in the US as far as I know....

I'm sure there is some data out there that can correlate You Tube advertising to sales or why else would You Tube pay to run adds on videos...

Why do almost all car manufacturers advertise on You Tube is not for brand recognition ehh ?

It's funny that I can't get Lotus to put this logo on my car, you'd think I was asking for advertizing dollars... I wonder what they wasted on Swizzle and the posers..?

Take the time to look at the Group Lotus You Tube numbers and count the views and think how much they spent on self promotion.. http://www.youtube.c...d&view=0&page=1

I guess Lotus know everything there is about branding..... Seriously did Danny get fired from Red Bull because he doesn't know squat about getting the Lotus brand out there from what I can see..

Count the views 1,356 a year later.

Hell add up all the Group Lotus videos views and tell me about the great marketing plan from Group Lotus...

Frank, for the most part I have generally come to your defense when things got a little carried away on a given thread. And even "the critics" have almost unanimously agreed that what you've done with your Exige is exemplary in all ways. But blistering attacks on Lotus' advertising efforts without some form of concrete suggestions that might produce better results is not winning you more fans.

If you were Marketing Director for a day (or even a week......whatever) what specific techniques would you employ to move the brand into the public's consciousness in a more effective manner? And still remain within a reasonable budget? Bibs has noted that our "readership" includes Group itself. Perhaps they might even take your suggestions to heart if they make sufficient economic sense.

The point is I don't care about wining current Lotus fans much like the current Lotus as a matter of fact I couldn't care less....but these numbers aren't Lotus owners but guys that want to see what can be done with a sports car meant to be driven ..

Again this is without tryin..

Google search worlds fastest lotus ?= About 27,600,000 results

Google ronin exige Lotus = About 4,330,000 results

Google ronin Lotus = About 4,000,000 results

Google Frank Profera Lotus = About 1,210,000 results

Now punch in Google Lotus Cars = About 47,500,000 results

[This is since the begining of the internet for Lotus}

I can tell ya the views of my car are mostly non Lotus owners because the majority of the current Lotus owners are too closed minded to think outside the box until they are out of warrantee....

Hell I came up with the first aftermarket supercharger kit because the old Lotus didn't want to sell me the bits to put one together and it's sold over 600 units and is still selling because it produces more power than the kit by Lotus and at a better price...All those used Elise/Exige are now out of factory warrantee and cheap making them a great basic platform to start from..

If Lotus knew how to play the game they would be linking their You Tube videos to guys posting theirs on line instead they do nothing....Hell they should be offering Lotus swag as an incentive to post videos mentioning the brand.

Seriously they would have millions of views and the free advertising to the new market they claim to want...

My car is mentioned on just about every car forum out there I really can't believe it but there is no Lotus decal on it because Lotus are too ignorant to take advantage of the opportunity..

It's easy enough to track the views through the You Tube analytics feature ...

My car is the most viewed video on the Drive channel for the time it's been aired...

I thought Lotus tossed out all the old marketing staff, I guess they just chose not to replace them..

Oh wait they have Swizzle..

I say get some car guys in there if you wanna sell cars not the current group of posers..

I reposted this video a week ago after accidentally erasing my channel and it now has more than twice the views of the Geneva video with the posers over a year ago...

This is how you market a performance car without even trying..
