Is that a diffuser with a wing combined into it? Will the extra elements not slow the air down that the diffuser is trying to accelerate out from under the car?

Yes the wings are attached, there are no extra gates. The diffuser will direct the disturbed air from under the car and make it useful. [faster]

The gates behind the wheels will also direct the air and reduce the turbulence.

Then again I could be totally wrong but if it's banned from F1 it might just work... :turned:

I must admit Frank you are very skilled, looks great.

Did you do calculations for the diffuser, or was it a build and see?

It all starts with someone with the "eye" to see how the airflow will behave....all the sums follow on from there.

Quite true, Mr. Douglas. However, some people have a better "eye" than others, whilst some are in need of bettter lenses. :) .

Proper aeroplanes (and this one used to be mine!) have flaperons....and a roll rate of 110 deg per second, not bad for a puddle jumper....!

Paging Mr Profera. Mr Profera to the "Tuned" thread, please. Thread hijack in progress by French moles and Australian antipodeans. Immediate action required. Recommend implementation of 211 Progress Report at earliest convenience.

I have it on good authority that Frank's Lotus 711 project is on hold until that model is released in 2015.

I hereby lodge a formal complaint that you were in NYC and didn't call me so that I and the Tri-State Loti could buy you and yours dinner and/or a drink or four. Plus my son, the 5-year-old Lotus lunatic, wants to meet you because, as he said, "Frank's Lotus looks supersonic." I'm going to PM you my cell number so you have no more excuses.

Fenders are now ready for glass and then it's time to cut the rear off and work on the tilting hinge setup and then engine lid with the rear end once the diffuser is mounted..
