Easiest way to fit the carbs?

Recommended Posts

I'm almost at the point of refitting the body to the chassis on my never ending S1 restoration. I haven't restored the carbs yet but I need to fit the body asap. So, my question is... what's the easiest way to fit the carbs in situ, should I fit the inlet manifold now or leave it off? i.e. is it easier to fit the carbs and inlet manifold to the engine in one lump or will it give me less grief if the inlet manifold is already on the engine.

Thanks, Paul.

I've done both & there's not much in it, although it's easier to check the carbs are squarely mounted with an even gap between the manifold/spacer/carb with it on the bench.
