Cosworth Esprit

Hi all.

I was on my way home from work and half way between Brandon Suffolk and Mundford Norfolk. [And yes passport ok.]

There was a black Esprit on the side of the road with hazard flashers going. So i stopped to see if i could help with parts as i only live down the road. Only problem was it was fitted with an ford cosworth turbo so i could not help with parts, Then tow truck arrived so i came home.

It looked like an interesting conversion.

By the way i have a 1978 Elite 504

All the best Clive

Having owned both a Sierra Cosworth and an Esprit I can tell you that the 910 Lotus engine is by far the smoother if the two! It's a better engine overall in my opinion, all you could say about the Cossie lump is it has cheaper parts and greater tuning potential perhaps?

I did love the cossies I had, the engine was endearingly raucous and thrashy (if there is such a thing) but the 910 feels light years ahead in terms of refinement and turbo lag.

Guy.

The Esprit on the driftwork site is the one because it also had the bulge at the front and it looked only a little better in the engine bay.

Thanks Clive
