Correct size of A/C belt

Does anyone know what the size of the A/C belt should be? (1982 wet sump turbo)

I cant remember if I got the one I have from Lotusbits or SJ but its wrong. The correct belt profile for the Sanden compressors is an 11mm (7/16 in) belt but they have supplied a 13mm. The length of the belt they supplied seems correct but because its too large for the pulleys it sits high and is incredibly difficult to fit and the tensioner is fully slack and the belt still too tight.

I think if I check the size and get one with the proper profile but the same length it might fit but is there any record of the proper size?

Andy - According to my Sanden literature its should be a 1/2" belt (sounds about right as mine is definitely wider than the pump & alternator belts.  Unfortunately, don't know the length.

NB - I'm getting down to 2.5 centigrade vent temperature on the road!

Thats interesting. I have two SD508s and they both measure 11mm on the pulley groove. The one on my Ferrari also uses an 11mm belt as original spec.

It should be wider than the other 2 belts for sure but they are 10mm.

Maybe the belts are intended to ride proud of the pulley although it doesnt really look right.

2.5 degrees is cool (literally :))

The belt is correct a lot of comps use 2 belts for the ac if the comp is mounted on top of the engine as per the older jags its a larger dia to cope with the torque on cutting back in when it is down to temp there is a high side pressure off aprox 100psi so high load when cutting back in these belts need to be tight. a bit like me really some say mean.
