S1 horn fixings

Does anybody happen to know where the two horns are fixed on the front of the car on an S1. I didn't take a picture when I took them off 7 years ago and now I can't remember where they came from

Between the washer bottle and the left hand headlight

Is the horn mounted on the outside of the radiator housing or is it within the housing?

On mine the horn compressor is mounted inside the bonnet compartment on the left hand wheel arch beside the washer bottle with the horns then mounted beside the lefthand headlamp motor. They are effectively jammed right in the front left corner of the bonnet compartment.

Ok, ta. I don't have air horns - don't think they were original factory equipment?

Think air horns were originally fitted to the s1. They were black and had a small compressor. S and J sell replacements for a price ! Was thinking of putting them back on my car. It has a compressor which doesn't work. Someone put in an electric horn later on, but the pipe was still there for the air horn. It was fitted on the opposite side to the washer bottle, not sure which side is correct. Quite a current load for the compressor.

Never heard of that before and there's no wiring in my harness for it, on the wiring diagram they're just shown as two regular horns?

Parts manual extract from electrical section, note high and low note, believe these are the air horns. Also there is an article on the Esprit fact file, google esprit Sad Cow Horn Disease. Apparently they were installed next to the washer bottle on the slot wheel arch side. Of course can be supplied by S an J for a price!

My S1 had two regular horns (snail type) mounted each side of the radiator on L brackets, hope that helps
