A post noise and unlocking evora

Recommended Posts

Hi I have a noise coming from the A post area, off side. I suspect the black trim is vibrating at speed. Has anyone had this? It occurs at speed, I tried taping up the trim below the windscreen wiper at the far right by the drivers A post, no joy. I'm going to try taping up the A post next.

The other issue I have is unlocking the car, I have to get really close to the car and it doesn't always unlock first time, as expected. The boot doesn't unlock from behind, I have to almost walk round to the drivers door window. Is this batteries or is it just what I have to expect??

Cheers

I had a crackling noise from that area and it was the slim slither of seal at the top of the 'A' panel cover that was loose. I only worked it out when a mate took a photo of me moving and I noticed it was flapping; it was in place when stationary. Glued it down - job done.

If it is a whistling noise, then it could be the 'A' panel cover itself. I had mine replaced and they hadn't aligned them correctly so it whistled a bit. Once refitted correctly it was fine.

Key fob is probably batteries, is the spare okay?

You have two likely sources along the A-post, I've gone through both :

  • The rubber seal at the TOP, going forward onto the windscreen. This ends after about 7-8 cm. and can loosen. Once you get a bit of speed it gets pushed out of the slot and will vibrate like mad. Solution: Glue it solidly back in.
  • The A-pillar itself can become loose at the front and vibrate. You can tape the front side down for a quick fix-it, but it will need to be glued professionally, best using the same stuff they use to glue in the windscreen.

I had same issue with rubber seal like TBD. Was easy to fix with glue.

About unlocking, it's probably poor battery.
