Nice write up!

Good decision to offer the sports racer in more Colors, I have seen a pewter Grey (Exige) in the flesh and it Looks very Special. A "Special" Color always underlines a "Special" car. (But I have seen solid Grey Colors on new AUdis, S5, RS 6, so solid Grey maybe is a "Little" fashion now?)

Glad you are enjoying it, Bibs.

So they is still do it  - and need the same technique to avoid it!  It was at least three years ago that I mentioned it, with shall we say, some discussion regarding the issue!  But well done for including it.

"It happens when you unlock the car and relock it without starting and the alarm doesn’t fully reset and the workaround is to just cycle the ignition on and off when the car is open, this resets the alarm fully."

Yup, and this on the car the CEO was driving around before me. It's not going off all the time now but will be fixed next time in I'm Hethel. Rather write a 'warts and all' piece rather than a press release, I'm not on commission!

The way I see it, is that it's a third party system integrated into the car and really a minor niggle, not a deal breaker. At least it's not a GT3 engine burning the car down or IMS failure leading to a £10k, it's a quick fix and won't leave you in tears!

And here was me thinking I was a numpty and doing something wrong.  I did sort the work around for myself :)

Great car, love the colour, really suits it.

Glad to hear it's behaving itself.

If you do get it fixed give us some info on here as to what they actually did. I know there are quite a few of us - and my dealer only got the answer "we don't know anything about that error" from Lotus.

On my first brief glance at the picture accompanying this piece, I momentarily thought the advertising hoardings in the background were rectangular roof mounted auxiliary lights on the Evora. "Rally Spec?" I pondered - then my mind wandered, thinking of a pod containing four oversized spotlights bolted to the front clam, a roll cage and gravel tyres...

I've just ended up with a totally flat battery because of this alarm fault, I think. No other reasonable explanation although when I discovered it the vehicle battery was totally dead (not even any dash lights) and the alarm battery was trying its best to make a noise but was barely audible. The car was driven and was fine on Sunday last and I discovered this on Wednesday. There might have been a light on somewhere or something like that but it does seem strange that no-one heard the alarm going off. My garage is good but I don't think it' soundproof! Weird. The good news is that the battery has taken a full charge and all seems well. I'll take more notice of this in future and make sure I always cycle it through before closing the garage door.

Well all mine have done it over the last 5 years and I've seen many doing it at LEGS Meets and I didn't think there was a fix.  I've just got used to never going near them and opening say the tailgate without sticking my keys in it before locking it.  MMC didn't/don't know of any solution so looking forward to hearing what it is!

Other than that a good write up and I can certainly sympathise with the sentiments of continual improvement.  I was sitting in a new one in showroom recently and it just felt so much better built than even my newest one.

My alarm goes off randomly every one in a while. Its mostly not a worry but if I am away from the car, for example on hols, I have this horrible thought about it going off non stop in the drive. PITA and also not related only to opening the door without driving it.
