Hi Folks,

I have a spare very low mileage (<1000 miles) V8 engine, that has been mated to a Porsche G50 gearbox. My intention was to use this combination as the basis for my next road car development. That plan is now scrapped in favour of upgrading my existing engine.

Is there anyone interested in this before I advertise it more widely? The parts available:

Complete V8 engine (correct Hylomar liner sealant)

Adaptor plate for Porsche G50 gearbox

Special strengthened driveshafts (Lotus outer, Lobro Outer)

Clutch

Gear linkage

About bloody time Mark!!!! I've been in Esprit ownership for 4 years now and all this time your car's been off the road. :lol: I am on my third Esprit now :o

I have a 20 year old bottle of champagne for the opening ceremony!

The Gearbox is now sold (to a US based V8 owner :) ) but I still have the engine. It is complete minus the clutch and turbos.

I really need to move on this engine, so if anyone is interested in a 1996 engine, with the liners re-sealed correctly, drop me a line. I

I would dearly like to reunite this engine with the car it came from (I have the car), but unfortunatley I am on the skint side of skint and a glorified 912 is all I can manage for the time being.

Do you have any of the other parts that John created for the car that you no longer need?

various 4cyl parts sent to Malc from the sister 24 car - which is now to be a V8 - weird or what...lol A pleasure doing business. Will prb buy as much back off him for my project.. what goes around.. small world... but not hazzardous.

who got the trans btw Mike - I could do with some help on the linkages off the G50 and advice re adjusting the spray bar, filters etc from turning the thing upside down..

Happens to us all Johan - how is the project coming along?

Its a very long project. Im building my engine from scratch. I just got a billet crank made. Other mods includes new cams, ported heads, forged pistons, custom exhaust manifolds, maybe a custom intake manifold, custom main bearings to withstand higher HP output (containing more indium) . My goal is to get the car up to 225 MPH top speed without exploding the transmission or engine. My transmission is already totally redone and finished. I also have a G50 tranny which has been sitting in my garage for the last 2 years. To be honest with you I have not done much at all to my esprit in the last year. However, my inspiration is coming back and I am planning to have my car ready for racing next summer/fall.

when you say racing Johan? what sort..?

top speed targets are tough cross to bear.. not a lot of gain and very hard to get there.. maybe better focussng on increment times: 0-150, 0-200 etc.

your g50 (G50-50?) trans is good for about 650bhp but the gearing will obviously need to be revised - 5 or 6 speeder..?

where you intend to try the 225 run.. bonneville?
