Get them to call Andrew French at the factory if they need guidance. It's most definitely a clam off job to access a cross over pipe at the front of the car.

My Elise not on the list .

Is it just Exiges .

Eddie, it's some Elise/Exige/2Eleven built between 2004 and 2011 that are affected but not all of them. If you didn't get a letter, you're ok :)

Umm im beginning to think that they dont know whot there doing ...I dont know anyone on jersey who says a good thing about them I ask the guy on the service desk twice about the clam...I may give them a call again to see whot they are doing.....whot else should I ask them to look at when the clam is off..

Some dealers can do it without removing the clam, it depends on the tech and if the oil coolers need to be replaced.

 

While the car is there, ask them to run it up to temp to check the rad, cooling fans and make sure the heater blower is working at all 3 speeds. They're easy to replace and you'll not have to pay for the clam R&R if they do take it off. The service bulletin says they should, but as I said, if they're confident they can do it without then some dealers are doing it that way.

^ ahh not good, my understanding is they only have to remove the clam if they can't get the oil cooler unions undone easily (or as Bibs says if they need to replace a cooler)

 

Not heard of anyone as yet who has had the fix done without clam removal, mines in next week, so hoping it won't be a clam off job.

 

I presume you'll get another new splitter out of the dealer

Just so fed up every time I take it there something happens I have it serviced and looked after my a guy who deals with specialist sports cars he had a lovely Nobel in last week...but I have to take it to the dealer here for recalls etc no wonder they are just a Service center now..

I would do bibs but at 400 quid return gets a bit expensive I have had it serviced at stratton a few times when I'm visiting family that's okay but when something major happens I'm stuck... just have to see whot happens if they funk it up I will be straight onto lotus..Thanks again for all your help it's very appreciated
