aluminum pedals installed!

Recommended Posts

I installed some aluminum pedals on the Esprit, got them off of Ebay for $70USd and am quite impressed with the quality and fitment. Didn't have much fun drilling the pedal attachment holes as there's not much room for leverage with the drill. Anyway, I got them in a week! Interior is really coming around, I also decided to redo the stock seats as many of the aftermarket seats are too wide or too tall or too thick or whatever. The upholstry shop that did my carpet is going to make them like the 2002 V8 style seats in Black leather with silver/grey stitching, and I'll put pics up as soon as I get them in! Probably going to be close to Christmas when I get them back and installed.

PO had fitted some to Lottie, but even in slim shoes I was pressing far too many pedals at once so I asked him to remove them prior to collection.

Good if you have small feet. But who'd admit to THAT!

I have small SHOES! Seriously though, the pedal covers are actually about 1mm slimmer than the rubber pedal covers that were on the pedals and the gas pedal cover is only longer than the arm so there is no discernable difference with the covers, now for the ebrake handle.....Just need to find one for less than $200USD!

Hi Art,

Your car seems to be coming along very nicely. The pedals look neat and a really good size. I bought a set but I hadnt realised just how small the Esprit pedals actually are and they wouldn't mount, so I had to stick them on the wife's FTO. :)

Carpet looks great too !

Very nice looking Pedals. We are wanting to do something like that also to ours. The rubber is missing and they are very slippery when wet. How are yours holding up so far. Do they also seem slippery if wet?

Carl,

Thanks! I'm enjoying the new carpet except that every ounce of light colored debris shows right up!

Chuck,

Don't know, just got them yesterday and installed last night. I probably won't find out if they are slippery when wet as I don't drive the car when it's wet. My suspicion tells me that they will still be slippery. They are made of nice aluminum and I used all the supplied hardware to attach them so I don't think I'll have a problem with them coming loose, although time will tell. Nicely priced on Ebay and fast dispatch, 5 days to my door after winning the item!

i put same ones on mine

but got the knurled finish so wont slip

I usually don't have slipping problems since I typically drive without shoes, just my socks! But I liked that they had a couple of options. I was very impressed with how small the pedals were to fit exactly within the "footprint" of the stock rubbers!
