lotusespritse 44
Does that include the Hertz 'rent a racer' 1966 Shelby Mustang? Yes, it applies, sort of. But instead of 1 out of 10, it was probably 9 out of 10 that beat the piss out of them. Some even replaced the engines. Don't believe me, read about it here: http://www.carguychronicles.com/2014/02/carroll-shelbys-v8-great-stolen-engine.html A significantly large percentage of the used car stock in the UK is either ex rental, or ex lease. wirhour them thoug, we'd not have enough used stock to service the demand. Car search over here doesn't differentiate. Would you prefer an ex-rental Esprit which has been meticulously maintained, or an ex-privately owned car that's been kept going on a shoe string and despite looking shiny, due to the amount of regular polishing, has had its dirty bits neglected significantly. Sucks that you guys don't know the more about the history of the cars when you buy them. I prefer to do my homework and make sure the car has been serviced, but if I had to buy a rental or a car without a good service history, I would expect to pay well below one that has the good history and few owners. A rental car in essence has had 10's or 100's of owners. Yikes!

Mark Blanchard 1,639
As regards treatment by hirers, they are car enthusiasts and treat the cars accordingly. I know there’s always one, but they are the exception not the rule. We had one customer who took our Morgan for a weekend, and according to his wife, washed and polished it twice! Anyone renting an Esprit for the weekend is going to give it the nuts. It's a supercar and they're supposed to go fast. A while back I rented a Ferrari 348 and I didn't drive it like a Granny. So this Esprit is going to get the same treatment. Quote Mark www.lotusespritturbo.com
