Are you looking for an indoor or outdoor cover?

I too am looking for a nice indoor cover ...if I could get the Lotus logo on it that would be great.

Jason

I almost forgot ..I asked S4 simon about his cover and this was his response:

The cover is a perfect fit for the S4 and was made by Specialised Car Covers in the UK. Comes with a carry bag the size of a sleeping bag.

The cover is great looking for indoor use.

Club Lotus have currently got a discount deal going with them and I'm prety sure they can do them with a Lotus Logo on the indoor covers. I've got an outdoor cover from them and it does fit very well and has four underbody straps which stop it blowing around etc ....They also provide pockets for the door mirrors as well.

Martyn I'd watch your paintwork VERY carefully if using an outdoor cover, no matter how well it fits it will move slightly in the wind and constantly rub against the paintwork.

It will not take long for the lacquer to start peeling. :D

I bought a nice taylor made cover a few years ago when I purchased the Esprit.

Unfortunately it was taylor made for a Jag XJS. Just about fits OK though.

I have a "Specialised Covers" showerproof cover for the Esprit, though only use it in the garage. Some sort of ICI P3 fabric. It fits OK, is pretty soft, and does the job. I've got a proper Specialised indoor cover for the Carlton - looks just like Simon's - and I'd say that was a better bet if its staying indoors. Probably cost between

My paint work isn't very good in any case and I don't think it's got lacquer on it. I did get some marks from an earlier cover I bought so will only use the new one when I really need to. I take every ones point though the cover is bound to rub however well you tie it down and I certainly won't risk it after I finally get it re-sprayed :P .

Alessandro I bought the car cover off ebay in the UK back in March. The cover was brand new and I paid (from memory) around UK120 pounds. Ciao. :P

FYI

Here's a pic of the 'Specialised Car Covers' indoor cover :respect:

Simon, that cover seems to be VERY tight around the bumpers/wheel arches, why?? (unless you have a draughty garage)

Must be a pain to put on an take off.

Get the 'Large Sportscar' outdoor cover from Specialised. I did, mine is fleecy inside and waterproof/snowproof.

You can even put it onto a wet car in the rain and 'eventually it will dry' or so they say - there maybe a bit of moisture for as long as the conditions are damp.

If I remember well I think we may be able to do a group buy with the guys Tony bought BigSi's cover from. It will be an outdoor cover, tailored to the Esprit with Lotus logo on the bonnet and forum logo over each door, somewhere around

Just one point about fleece linings, they trap dust and grit in the fleece, even the most tailored cover will move slightly in the wind, you'll see the effects in the paint after a while.............

Without fleece is better.
