obsolete rubber pipe s4 1993.5

Recommended Posts

Hi all,    I am told by SJ Sportscars that the brake fluid low pressure pipe, resevoir to pump  ,part no.A082J4274F has been replaced by A082J6124V which is a V8 vacuum pipe!!!,9.5 mm bore, per metre.      .Is this correct?    Is it EPDM?    Has anyone used it? Thanks for any help.

Hi, I replaced mine with a length of pipe recommended by my local motor factors ( told him it was for brake fluid ) but within a few weeks the new pipe was leaking ( sweating ) really badly. Turns out the hose he'd supplied was for petrol & was not EPDM which is what you need for brake fluid. Slightly annoying as it's a bit fiddly to replace. I ended up getting mine from the States as I couldn't find a supplier in the UK although I'm sure someone must do it. Since I've fitted the EPDM pipe it been fine, it's nothing special, just a straight length will do you.

Phil

Thanks Philip,  Was the bore of the pipe 9.5mm?  How long is the pipe? What company in the US did you get it from as I cannot find a UK supplier?

Hi Steve, I've dropped you a PM with details of the company on ebay that I used.

The hose was 3/8" ID which is 9.5mm IIRC. I cant remember how long it is but I bought 2' as it was only cheap.

Phil.

Speak to the people at thinkauto.com here in the UK they are fluid transfer specialists that supply motorsport and do various pipes for different applications, I would be very surprised if the cannot help and the do next day delivery from memory
