Front number plate plinth removal / fitting smaller plate

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am looking at fitting a smaller front plate - how have people done this?

Do you remove the existing plate and Velcro the plate on, remove the plinth itself and cut it down or some other magic?

I can not see how to remove the front plate plinth - I removed two bolts on the under tray, but it did not come loose.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Simon

Upgrade today to remove Google ads and support TLF.

Hopefully it will when I look at it again tonight, but I could not see any additional fittings last night - I removed '6'.

The plinth on the S1 and 340r are certainly easier than this!

Cheers Bibs

I saw a front plinth cut down to size at B&C so it's possible, I plan on doing the same.

I'd assume it would be easy to unscrew and then can be cut.

Thanks everyone - got it off (couldn't see the two plastic screws at 5 last night) - just got to cut it down now. Those plastic screws are great!!!

I've also done the same (cut the plinth down) and bought a 3/4 size plate off the Internet.

It's at least legal in font and spacing size, but doesn't have the makers markings.

It still looks too big though...

Going to cut my plinth with a dremel soon, any tips (apart from 'take it off first' - done that already)?

Hard to explain, a photo would be best to show what I did but my car is in for service.
