installing new oxygen sensor.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

As I am installing a net cat, exhaust tube and oxygen sensor, I would like to ask, if the glass bead/liquid graphite is still used today, on the thread of a new or reinstalled oxygen sensor?

Kind regards,

Jacques.

Okay, been searching for that glass stuff, but to no avail.

Meanwhile I have bought a tube of Wera thread compound, resistant up to 1400 degrees celsius.

So, my question is this: will this be oaky or can't it seal peopperly?

Kind regards,

Jacques.

Usually the O2 sensors have some anti-seize...  Use only O2 sensor safe compounds.  The glass bead kind are the best.  I don't know the Wera brand.

I use the BOsch 13030 sensor, but I have read an opinion that the Denso sensor is faster responding...?  I may try that one soon.

Denso 234-4062 Oxygen Sensor (might work)
