2015 Marshal Volunteers Required

Recommended Posts

We need perhaps a dozen people to help with marshaling on the day, it would be great if a few of you were to help us out.

Sparky is in charge, he's 'Chief Marshal' and I'll bring TLF PPE and hopefully some PMR's to help you co-ordinate everything.

You'll be helping us park the cars up nicely on the show area plus getting the Concorde guys to the aircraft and finally getting 50 cars from the parking to the Brooklands banking for a group photo towards the end of the day. Your assistance will be most appreciated and if you play your cards right, there may be a nice Easter Egg in it for you like last year :D

Yep, but I'll bring a bigger umbrella and waterproof trousers this time.

Like a revolving plinth? With spotlights and choir music? Lovely.

Anyway, more than happy to be Sparky's b*tch again. He might let me touch his tool once more. It's the tabard, you see. Drives 'em crazy.

Apparently, organising a piss-up in a brewery qualifies me to provide marshalling services to this event.  So, I'm looking for some volunteers.  Duties involve ensuring all arrivals are parked efficiently in the morning, and ensuring smooth flow of cars to/from the photoshoot sites.  Whilst on Brooklands property we will need to ensure stringent safety standards as the museum will be open.

It's a task that will require marshalling presence, on and off, all day. And, knowing our luck, waterproof clothing.  Whatever, you get to wear a tabard that lets everyone know you're special.  Still a few things to work out, so not certain how many will be required.  If you're able to help, all or part of the day, please add your name below.

Your reward will be the undying love and affection of Bibs and Laura, in addition to that of all event attendees.  Unless Bibs comes up with something else...

3. ChrisJ (although not all day)

Pete - this means that this year we won't arrive before the marshals.

There's not a lot to show for the uniforms. Think PanAm in the seventies, just with less material! :D

Day's a-loomin' so time to put your money where your mouth is.  Here's the list of cold, wet, marshals:

1.  Sparky

2.  internets  (new mini version)

3.  pete  (non-tool-touching)

4.  rocket63  (he must polish his a lot)

5.  Wilf (or does she?)

6.  ChrisJ (part-timer)

7.  temple (age concern delegate)

8.  Dunc (token diversity & inclusion Scotsman)

9. 100th_Idiot (or in this case, 10th)

Please individually confirm/deny my claim ASAP.

Is that it?  10's achievable, but a little light.  It's a very busy day for marshals, and we don't get a lot of time to join in with festivities.  Morning parking is a good 2 hour affair.  Herding Lotus owners is waaaay worse than cats.  However, I'm sure Bibs has organised really expensive Hotel Chocolat eggs for all of us, not to mention the Armani hi-viz vests and commemorative plaques.

As Tracy & I are staying at the Brooklands Hotel, we'll be onsite early.  If anyone is doing the same and wants to join the shortest hoon in Lotus history, let me know.  Let's see who gets lost.

Sorry Sparkster.
