Gravel
Looks much better down there, I will have to pop to duxford in the near future, (my son was looking forward to going again and disappointed when we had to turn around) A question for those who looked at the planes, can you still see the SR71, thunderbolt and the other us planes (I would love to know where they can store the B52)? It looked like most of the US stuff was still in there but you couldn't view any of it up close as they'd taken the glass front off the building. Some of the overhead exhibits had also been lowered to the ground - presumably for dusting
Gravel
Many thanks to Martyn for organising this meet - I must remember to actually introduce myself next time! It was a little bit dull and grey to start with: But I still managed to get a bit sun burnt!
rizla603104
Great day out. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Bit wet to start and the thunder storm ended the day. But other than that - excellent.
Steve1
Cheers Martyn for a great day. Met some great people as ever as you do at any of these Lotus events. Gutted I can't go to Brookland's this weekend, hope the weather is slightly better for everyone. Cheers, Steve
Ian Till
I finally retrieved my login password, for some reason after resetting it a few times and not being able to log back in, it worked last night and I'm alive again. I didn't bring my M100, but did come in the French Blue Plus 2 with my friend Brian, who even let me drive it home, which was quite special really - those cars must have caused a bit of a stir in 1968. My M100 was in bits until 2300 the night before and after bolting it all back together (inlet manifold and injector housing gasket replacements) I didn't think it was all that responsible to drive it up without going back through the inlet air setup procedure, of course I could have done it at Duxford, but that didn't occur to me. Anyway, we had a great day, arriving a little late, but with clear weather, nothing more than drizzle on the way up and for the most part a dry and breezy afternoon. There were lots of nice cars there and while I think the attendance probably dropped by about a half, there was still quite a good turnout. What with the thunderstorm and the following breeze and warm sun, the car was dry again and the rainy interlude won us the perfect opportunity for a slice of cake and coffee in the cafe. Thanks to Martyn for arranging it and hooking a few of us LECers in, I hope to bring my M100 next year and suspect Brian will bring his Plus 2 again as well, as the roads are good and it makes a nice drive out.
