In the USA manuals are so uncommon that we joke that manual transmission cars should receive an insurance discount because we keep hearing of news stories where carjackers have walked away from a stick shift because they don't know how to drive it.

DJW
Quite like that. Colin G
Not keen on the yellow brakes but otherwise I like that a lot. Well, apart from the gopping orange reflectors.

Gold FFM JayEmm Posted December 12, 2016 Gold FFM Report Share Posted December 12, 2016 I love it. Lotus of West Covina have a Verde Ithaca 400 too. ByJoveByJingle
I'm partial, but I prefer the Verde Ithaca. This one is a bit jarring. But color is personal . . . and I understand different opinions. Within reason.
Stuno1
Reasonable comments but don't agree it's 'raw' and calling a magnesium well scalloped steering wheel Halfords is odd.

Gold FFM C8RKH Posted January 2, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 2, 2017 Have to agree on the steering wheel, I hate the heavy sculpting and personally think it looks really shit. Might be good in the hands, but looks shit. I much prefer my slightly thicker original early S1 steering wheel. Not a fan of the all the cut-outs and shaping to be honest. And have I mentioned before how I hate those friggin' federal spec side reflectors. My god they don't look shit, they just look total shite! They would have to go. Quote Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate. Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies! The first guy to ride a bull for fun, was a true hero. The second man to follow him was truly nuts! Gold FFM JG220 Posted January 2, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 2, 2017 I (until now) secretly quite like STG That steering wheel is shinier than a 300k mile E-class taxi
Gold FFM JayEmm Posted January 2, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 2, 2017 I love the shape of the Evora steering wheel, but not the leather they cover it in. Generally very cheap leather in the 400's interior. Gold FFM blindside Posted January 2, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 2, 2017 Looks and sounds like Shmees older sibling. Nothing wrong with that I suppose. As you may remember, top of my paper list back in 2015 was the F Type and after driving thats where it stayed, top of the paper list I couldn't afford the "R" so drove the "S" but I found it very sterile to drive and, apart from the nice exhaust sound, similar the XF i had a few years ago Absolutely no where near the Evora for comparison, & that was pre

Gold FFM JayEmm Posted January 2, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 2, 2017 @PaulCP have you driven an XKR? I ask only because I drove an XKR-S when trying out other possibilties, car felt very much "old man" - all the controls were far too light, no feedback at all. I didn't know how much the F-Type moved the game on. I know it looks much sharper, sportier, but I also know it isn't that different from the XKR underneath Quote James Martin (JayEmm) Director of Photography & Car Enthusiast Follow my Lotus adventure online! www.jayemm.com
FGA
I'm a fan of STG and I thought his comments were fair given that it was his first impression but I don't agree it feels raw. As for the steering wheel, I like the look of it, but not the feel of the lumps and bumps.

Haven't driven one but I've been in one and know someone who has a modified one
Gold FFM JayEmm Posted January 2, 2017 Gold FFM Report Share Posted January 2, 2017 @FGA I suppose it could be if you've gotten used to a squishy big car like a Jag. One of my next videos is going to be along the lines of why the Elise is the worst car Lotus have ever made. Not as a car, but for the company. They made it for so long and they've become synonymous with it, now people think all Lotus have ever made it tiny uncompromising little cars with no creature comforts. So many people - both keyboard warriors and genuine enthusiasts - don't really understand how a Lotus could be anything else. 1 Quote James Martin (JayEmm) Director of Photography & Car Enthusiast Follow my Lotus adventure online! www.jayemm.com
Inkyfingers
@blindside Maybe, but somehow think it's somebody i've met. Anyway, my journey towards Evora ownership started with an F Type V6 S. I really liked it; the looks, the sound and even the handling, it knocked spots off the Porsche Cayman S I also drove, which felt totally soulless. However, I was having trouble getting the purchase passed my 2 i\c who felt it was pointless buying a car we couldn't get the kids in, which got me thinking about the Evora. As soon as I made the decision to go and drive one, the outcome was inevitable. I still wouldn't rule out an F Type at some point though,
