As I was standing there gorping at it in disbelief with my keys in one hand and a coffee in the other, a woman came towards me and said she saw it happen and apologised for not getting their vehicle reg

Apparently a family pulled up in a knackered black people carrier. The kid in the passenger seat flung his door open and smacked it into mine. They then decided to drive off.

Maybe a good thing I wasn't near by. I might of got a bit um....... emotional, especially if I'd seen them driving away!

Small crumb of comfort is that as the paint is so fresh it shouldn't be an issue to colour match. But, damn...

Yeah true!

I'm popping down to see him tomorrow as he's spraying a V8 rear hatch for me.

I'll get a price of him for the repair.

It's almost impossible to avoid. I'm always the geek who parks as far away from the entrance as possible to avoid this kind of thing. The amount of times I get back to find a dirty great pickup parked 3mm away is incredible.

In the garage no-one can hear you scream

Gutted for you.. if it's azure blue ? It'll be interesting to see if the paint shop can get away with just the door, or if they'll end up having to spray the whole side!!

When I use car parks, if possible I park far away & occupy 2 spaces & endure the occasional abusive notes left on the windscreen!

Come to think of it, it's good there's not to many lotus owners in my area otherwise I'll probably feature quite often in the " how's my parking thread " :)

Its amazing that for years and years due to flaking lacquer my car looked like it had leprosy and I never needed to be precious about it.

Just over a month after paint it gets twatted in a carpark.

I still think its a good job I didn't catch them trying to escape from the scene of the crime, I might of got myself into trouble.

I've been down to see Chris in the paint shop and he touched me up. :)
