hi     I drove a  2011 my that had a very heavy clutch it was also very  sharp on release I own a s4 esprit and the evora clutch was a lot heavier there was also a light rattle on release of the clutch when pulling away is this normal?

Upgrade today to remove Google ads and support TLF.

My wife thinks the clutch is heavy, but to me its lighter than my Tuscan (she drives an auto these days of is out of touch).  Release is quite sharp, but again nothing outside the range of what I would call ordinary.

 

I dont get a rattle, but the clutch seems to be inherently noisy in these cars and mine is no different.

 

Someone who knows technical stuff abut clutches will probably be along soon

Bah, its Lotus. For lack of a technical description, one can always be comfortable in the following description:

 

It's a feature.

The release bearing has a tendency to rattle at low revs in first gear.  In the Toyota diesel it's borrowed from there's lots of sound proofing so you don't hear it inside the cabin but it still does it.  Just get a fruitier exhaust or turn the stereo up a bit :)
