Red 5 4 Report post Posted March 30, 2015 Had the chance to take my Evora to the limit on Sunday during the Vmax200. Managed to top it out @170...
chylld 125 Report post Posted March 30, 2015 Awesome!! I saw some of Shmee's videos from the event but naturally he only focuses on the hypercars... The video doesn't work for me (looks like a facebook link but gives me an error), really want to see it! Any chance of uploading to youtube as an unlisted video and sharing the link here? Gravel 101 Report post Posted March 31, 2015 Link workso for me! Pretty impressive, but IMHO it would have been nice to see a bit of what the track looks like at 170mph too, as I doubt many of us will ever see that in person!
Bibs 8,099 4 Vehicles Report post Posted March 31, 2015 I tried but the roads were too busy!

ramjet 814 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Ok. I will never own a La Ferrari (I still think that is a weird name) but now that I have seen some footage of one, I really don't like the mirrors at all. I don't suppose you'd be ticked at being beaten. How many Veyrons are you likely to encounter each day?

ramjet 814 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 I know! Those Veyrons are just weird aren't they? Meant to ask. What is the distance to the radar trap?
Red 5 4 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Well over a mile from a standing start. Il try and post a picture of both cars today
the83man 35 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Top speed is a motoring irrelevance if you ask me. That autobahn footage reveals a car that is obviously very stable and 'at home' at such speeds and that is probably what matters most. Top speed is good for 'top trumps' but not much else. All the cars liated at the VMax day are fast cars but only a few at the top of the list are fast 'everyday' road cars.
Red 5 4 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Id say the same about driving on the motorway/autobahn, of course it'll be stable at speed, there practically straight with no challenge . Il post up my track day footage at some point...I'd say that would be more relevant
TBD 727 2 Vehicles Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Yes, the Autobahn is straight when you're doing 90 mph, but at speeds above 160 mph even here the corners can get quite tight (maybe not in the videos above). You know you're going too fast when you need to look for the ideal line instead of keeping your lane. BTW top speed is relevant. I'll agree track performance may be even more fun, but before I get to the Ring I'll have to do 500 Km on the Autobahn just to get there.

ramjet 814 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 I must admit that top speed doesn't mean much to me either. You can't use it here in Australia so there is no point to it. I have more fun driving the Great Coast Road down south from where I live and leaving other cars behind or catching and going past cars in front of me which just can't corner like the Esprit. I can only imagine for later Lotus cars it even gets better.

LotusLeftLotusRight 587 1 Vehicles Report post Posted May 2, 2015 Unusual to find a car that doesn't suit black, but I think you've found it wth the 918. Shame for the owner: they're lovely looking cars otherwise.
Stuno1 314 Report post Posted May 2, 2015 Any stats or ideas on what the 0-60 and top end is on the komotec 405 and 425 uogrades is/would be? Stu
TBD 727 2 Vehicles Report post Posted May 2, 2015 As I was the first to actually get the opportunity re top speed on the Komotec EV 430 I can tell you the Evora S is speed limited at about 294 Kph on the GPS, or about 205 on the tach. You can see on the chart the acceleration suddenly stops. Apparently even Lotus wasn't aware of the limiter, but then the stock Evora never got that fast.
Stuno1 314 Report post Posted May 2, 2015 Based on that curve looks like there is definitely more in it. I would have thought komotec would have removed any limiters. Amazed lotus didn't realise it had one! Ultimately it doesn't matter apart from such events in this thread. Again 0-60 doesn't matter but any idea on time? Have you had any reliability issues? Noise a lot nicer as it has sports cat and down pipes as well as new air box. Is it intrusive? Stu
