Flushing the fuel tanks.

Can someone tell me please the best way to flush the tanks while they are in the car? Maybe from previous experience? I'll be fitting a new fuel pump soon and want to do this before it goes on.

Can't say anything about flushing the tanks, but to empty them just disconnect the fuel line near the carbs and pump out the fuel with the fuel pump into a container.

Obvious I know - but I got a red face when my mechanic told me this way (afterwards).

yep exactly how im going to do mine, the fuel in the tanks has been standing a while and is now more than likely useless.

so its disconnect from the filter and let it all out by running the pump into a container. then its out with the tanks and check them over.
