Overshooting the 1000 mile first service.

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what sort of leeway you have ?

I am currently just under 600 miles, however driving down to Brooklands is going to put 300 miles on, and it's 75 miles to the dealership, so I'm pretty close to having a run in car :)

Only slight problem is with the dealership so far away, I do need to plan a little to fit it into work schedules, so looking like unless I go over the 1000 miles I'll not get to enjoy the car for a fortnight.

There is some hope on the horizon, in that there is supposedly a new Lotus dealership opening in Nottingham this month. I've spoken to a couple of people that claim to know where it is (builders and people on the same industrial estate) and luckily on my commute to work. This is obviously MUCH more convenient, and if I can hold off saves a chunk of logistics. Again however this might mean laying the car up for a bit, without exceeding the 1000 miles :(

To be clear I'm not looking at doing another 1000 miles, just maybe 200 extra at the outside, and I'd still drive it like it was in the run-in period.

Thoughts?

It's not the end of the world, an extra few miles.

New dealership is Derby, not Notts.

In my maintenance record the after sales service is listed as:

1,000 - 1,500m / 1,500 - 2,500km or 12 months since sale

Mine was just done at 954  :animier:

Good effort Tony!

My last Evora was on 1250 miles when it had it's running in service, as arranged by the factory.

Pretty sure it's Nottingham, one of the MLOC guys was given the address by Lotus, and it matches where I've been told some building works are going on ;)

I plan on taking a spin past on my way home today to confirm.

Either way apart from not being able to extract maximum performance from the car for a bit longer, sounds like I have plenty of margin, even if I have to get to Derby, which is much more convenient than Leeds or Silverstone  :B)

Stand corrected, it's by Nottingham Racecourse. The guy who will be running it lives close to Derby, I've been round his house! :)

As Tony said, it's due anywhere between 1,000 - 1,500 miles so you'll be fine. :)

Mine was done at 1,200.

Thanks everyone for setting me straight on the exact timings, I really should RTM :D

Hopefully the extra 500 miles will tide me over until the Nottingham dealership opens, and save me taking a day out to get a service!

I took a drive out over lunch time, and I couldn't see anything obviously a Lotus dealership yet...  A firm that "specialises in sourcing bespoke premium vehicles" was the closest thing I could find.
