I should also point out that this car wouldn't have been possible without Jamie Matthews at B&C who has been absolutely superb. He has gone above and beyond on getting this car to a very exact specification and has been extremely patient with me!

I'd also like to thank Scott Walker at the Lotus factory also who has gone out of his way to help and communicate with me.

Will look good together. Trying to imagine it from the bits. :)

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Looks great, and I'm sure the static photos don't really do it full  justice.

I saw a Renault Megane R26 in that yellow on my way to work this morning (reminded me of this thread). The way it "changed colour" as it went past was lovely.

With the much more curvy Exige body shape it's going to look a real treat.

Nice choice!

Thanks all.

I'm really pleased with it. The yellow does look very bright but I think that it's because it's under florescent lights. As Simon mentioned, it does have a tendency to change colour depending on the light conditions.

One other change that I didn't note above is that Lotus have kindly offered to finish my entire interior in alcantara. This includes the dash, the section around the heater controls and stereo, plus the sills, gear-stick gator and handbrake sleeve. This will be complemented with yellow contrast stitching.

I drooled over a RLY Exige V6 at B&C last time I was there. It's right up at the top of the list of colours that suit the car. I love the sound of a fully alcantara'd up interior too but it's going to give the other dealers no end of headaches...

It's an expensive way to make cars and something I'm sure JMG would be looking to crack down on. The colour chart has shrunk recently for starters. Jamie and Scott must have pulled out all the stops but fair play to you for sticking to your guns. No point in buying a brand new car unless it's exactly like you wanted.

Do you have to take them up on all of it ?

Some leather and some Alcantara might make a nice textural contrast, sometimes you can have too much of a good thing ;)

Really looking forward to seeing this. LY is such a great colour, I really enjoyed taking care of the paintwork on my R26.

Interior will be great too, my only hesitation would be the sills covered in alcantara. With the amount of slight brushes and knocks they can get from heels from entry or egress, they might need a bit extra care and attention than the standard plastic or premium leather covered sills. However you already know this from previous motors so will have already factored this into your decision!

To answer some questions, yes Jamie really did pull out all the stops on this one and I'm told that it's not a car that will be repeated!

With regards to the interior changes Arun, the sills are covered in a hard wearing covering. Some photos below of another car they've done;

Part of me did recall that stuff on the orange car when I was posting, but wasn't sure you were getting exactly the same. That'll definitely do the trick. Carry on!

I do miss the premium sport interior on my last V6 as I do like a bit of alcantara and loved the yellow stitching. Oh well, venom red leather is pretty funky against the grey on my 'keeper' V6.

If you can go up to the factory with an idea and see Scott in person, from my experience he will really pull out the stops to make it happen. Not sure if you just rock up at a dealer you would get such a keen response.

Or deal with Jamie at B&C who knows Scott well :)

Jamie did arrange a trip up to the factory in early April where I met Scott as well, so all bases covered :D

This will look stunning when finished. I saw Trevor's at Brooklands on Sunday and in the sun light the colour was beautiful. I'm surprised you didn't get the rear diffuser painted Phantom black too, like the LF1 and Evora SR.

Hmmm I didn't think about the rear diffuser...maybe I'll ask B&C whether they could do that in their paint shop.....

Update: Lotus are now going to paint the rear diffuser Phantom Black. They also picked up that it didn't look quite right being matte. Good spot JAWS :)

Great news, they must be mind readers. Are you having the tailgate done in phantom black like the spoiler or yellow.

Took this photo at Spa Classic 6hrs a couple of years ago and thought it look great in liquid yellow...

Do you have an ETA for it yet?

I'm going to see it Friday and am hopeful that I'll have the keys before the end of the month :)

Oh and to answer your question Jaws, the spoiler and boot lid are Phantom Black along with the rear panel between the lights. The spoiler struts are liquid yellow along with the rear Lotus lettering.
