Fitting Cargo Net - Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC/Other - The Lotus Forums Jump to content

Recommended Posts

I bought the cargo retrofit kit from Lotus.

It comes with some jacknuts (that compress when tightened) but I need to know where to drill holes for them to be located.

Anyone have any pics or details? Are there markings under the carpet? (Guess I could go look!)

OK, I've now looked at the car...

There are no clues or telltale marks in carpet or clam for where the locating lugs go for the cargo net.

Just in the corners by the looks of it?

Thanks Bibs

I got that much hehe, but I was hoping for where in the car to drill holes.

Obviously in the cargo hold!

Sorry I do hate it when you dont get instructions with things.

Can't you offer the net up and make sure it's tense enough then go at it with the drill?

I guess that's an option... Just hope I don't drill into something on other side of bulkhead! :o

Put the drill down, step away from the drill!

Will hopefully have a CAD picture to help you shortly :)

I have been wondering the same.  CAD pic would be great.  I am too chicken to just drill

Nope,

I think only premium pack cars came with it.

The retrofit has a lotus accessories part code (net and fixings).

Thanks Bibs.

Can't quite see any detail... does it use the orginal battery door mounting holes on one side?

Thanks, that's a bit more useful.

So, in the kit I have 4 jacknuts (that the plastic T fixings bolt to, using m5 screws) and 2 P clips that have M6 screws.

The P clips, I assume, go at the bottom to form the closed bottom (all edges are elastic, there is no rail) but the M6 screws have no fixings, so I'm hoping (need to look at car again) that there are some existing M6 holes in the car that they use...

Does seem odd that Lotus supply it as a "retrofit kit" with an "Accessories" part number, but supply no documentation.

OK, getting there...

Pics to follow, but it appears that the two P clips using M6 fixings, use 2 of the 3 M6 bolts at the bottom of the aluminium inspection panel.

Well, not related at all to cargo nets but at least I now know where to look for my battery!  Thanks for that, I was wondering.... :offtopic:

It's a bloody HUGE battery as well! Must weigh a ton!

Gotta be an upgrade to be done there. A little Odyssey battery perhaps?

I've just had my cargo net out. All the fittings are fairly obvious, I think. On my car the two to the nearside are ftitted to the LH end of the battery cover and the two on the offside are mounted into fixing holes that will automatically line up once the LHS is in place. This fixings on mine are captive rubber mounted threads to take the bolt on the cargo net holder.

Hope that helps
