CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 13, 2015 I bought the cargo retrofit kit from Lotus. It comes with some jacknuts (that compress when tightened) but I need to know where to drill holes for them to be located. Anyone have any pics or details? Are there markings under the carpet? (Guess I could go look!)
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 13, 2015 OK, I've now looked at the car... There are no clues or telltale marks in carpet or clam for where the locating lugs go for the cargo net.
Bibs 8,107 4 Vehicles Report post Posted May 13, 2015 Just in the corners by the looks of it?
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks Bibs I got that much hehe, but I was hoping for where in the car to drill holes.
Buddsy 1,337 1 Vehicles Report post Posted May 13, 2015 Obviously in the cargo hold! Sorry I do hate it when you dont get instructions with things. Buddsy
Bibs 8,107 4 Vehicles Report post Posted May 13, 2015 Can't you offer the net up and make sure it's tense enough then go at it with the drill?
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 13, 2015 I guess that's an option... Just hope I don't drill into something on other side of bulkhead!
Bibs 8,107 4 Vehicles Report post Posted May 13, 2015 Put the drill down, step away from the drill! Will hopefully have a CAD picture to help you shortly
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 13, 2015 Thanks! Will stay tuned!
blueg33 72 Report post Posted May 13, 2015 I have been wondering the same. CAD pic would be great. I am too chicken to just drill
Beady 37 1 Vehicles Report post Posted May 13, 2015 which models come with no cargo net then ? I thought they all had one
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 13, 2015 Nope, I think only premium pack cars came with it. The retrofit has a lotus accessories part code (net and fixings).

Bibs 8,107 4 Vehicles Report post Posted May 15, 2015 Just don't use a 6" drill...
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 15, 2015 Thanks Bibs. Can't quite see any detail... does it use the orginal battery door mounting holes on one side?
Bibs 8,107 4 Vehicles Report post Posted May 15, 2015 Sorry, the forum is shrinking that down. Try this unnamed.pdf
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 15, 2015 Thanks, that's a bit more useful. So, in the kit I have 4 jacknuts (that the plastic T fixings bolt to, using m5 screws) and 2 P clips that have M6 screws. The P clips, I assume, go at the bottom to form the closed bottom (all edges are elastic, there is no rail) but the M6 screws have no fixings, so I'm hoping (need to look at car again) that there are some existing M6 holes in the car that they use... Does seem odd that Lotus supply it as a "retrofit kit" with an "Accessories" part number, but supply no documentation.
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 15, 2015 OK, getting there... Pics to follow, but it appears that the two P clips using M6 fixings, use 2 of the 3 M6 bolts at the bottom of the aluminium inspection panel.
C8RKH 3,520 2 Vehicles Report post Posted May 15, 2015 Well, not related at all to cargo nets but at least I now know where to look for my battery! Thanks for that, I was wondering....
CocoPops 812 Report post Posted May 15, 2015 It's a bloody HUGE battery as well! Must weigh a ton! Gotta be an upgrade to be done there. A little Odyssey battery perhaps?
the83man 35 Report post Posted May 15, 2015 I've just had my cargo net out. All the fittings are fairly obvious, I think. On my car the two to the nearside are ftitted to the LH end of the battery cover and the two on the offside are mounted into fixing holes that will automatically line up once the LHS is in place. This fixings on mine are captive rubber mounted threads to take the bolt on the cargo net holder. Hope that helps
Russell.Rhodes 0 Report post Posted January 1 I know this an old thread, but as I've just ordered the Cargo Net kit for my 2010 Evora I still have a few questions. Did you end up having to drill holes, or were there existing holes to use? Also any chance of reposting the CAD pdf as the link doesn't seem to work anymore 🙂 Cheers Russell
