Sprintevo
This is the link to the project I have for sale ebay item number 131504121366 I am not able to complete what I planned due to other projects and space so I want to sell it all on as opposed to split for parts. 1979 S2 with fire damage to the rear and almost complete interior, although time ravaged, it is all there and I have restored far worse. DVLA will re register it once MOT is completed Chassis is wrecked but this car is a useful source of parts or could be combined with.... 1983 Turbo chassis and body - chassis is mostly complete apart from rear gearbox mount Body is missing drivers door, glass roof and rear hatch - passenger door and a post have taken a hit. It is all repearable, but could donate its rear shell and chassis to the S2 I was planning to use the Turbo chassis with an Audi 2.7 bitrubo V6 from and S4 and good for 500bhp with a turbo upgrade and re map and audi 6 speed tansaxle - however I have promised the family I will complete my 1973 BMW 3.5 CSL batmobile racer first. Although recenlty I like the idea of a White S1 replica - bond style Whoever goes for it can make their own mind up. I have reduced the price recently but cannot go down any further. Otherwise I will put them into storage. The Ebay ad has more pictures and the whole 'shebang' is viewable in North Shropshire, call or text me on 07768157170 or on [email protected]

Sprintevo
Thanks for the support lads. Just to let you know they both sold today. They are going to be reincarnated, or at least the turbo chassis is into a Marco Mantix XP from 1968 - look it up it is quite a beast. Using the Turbo chassis re jig the engine compartment and a Repco Brabham V8 or DFV Ford engine. The S2 will be donating its hubs etc. There will be some parts available - the team at Maynard Motorsports in Stroud will be building it and will be wanting to get rid of all bodywork and interior trim parts including the digital clock!!! I have been a member of quite a few forums as I usually refer to them for help with a new model of car, I have to say there are quite a few trolls on this one who would rather make nasty comments than assit. so thanks for nothing and goodbye

You've insulted the same people who welcomed you and encouraged you when you first said you'd bought then cars in Dec last year, well done and also well done on a tidy profit, sorry we couldn't maximise that for you. I'm amazed more people didn't comment on what piles of trash those cars are, they are way too far beyond economical repair. I love Esprits but those are probably better off being sent to China. Personally, I'd have expected you to pay my fuel to come and collect them 2 Quote 88 Esprit NA, 89 Esprit Turbo SE, Evora, Evora S, Evora IPS, Evora S IPS, Evora S IPS SR, Evora 400, Elise S1, Elise S1 111s, Evora GT410 Sport Evora NA For forum issues, please contact the Moderators. Jacques
Auch! That is some projects. Not for the faint hearted, but of course, in theory anything can be redone to it's former glory. I'd say that if you got what you asked for, 2100 gbp, you're a lucky chap. I don't see any trolls here ever, fortunately, and most people have their Lotus cars for the long haul. Naturally. I've only met a plephora of knowledge and friendliness. Saved me lot's of hours and money as well. I only try to redo the curtesy if ever I can. Take the group buys for example. I've just saved 1300 GBP on the complete alunox radiator pack kit. Other members on here have helped me personally, without ever meeting me in person, by collecting parts for me somewhere in the UK, in their own cars, and packaging it and posting it at very good prices, to me in my own country. Both from the UK and other countries. Never had a negative experience ever. Thank you for that Guys! I don't see that as trolling, sorry for you bad experience, but I do think it's in the eye of the reader. Best of luck restoring the batmobile, which is a nice car. And of course, you not being a troll or anything, please do tell us what you actually sold the two Esprit project cars for? Kind regards, Jacques. Popular Post GTK
Hi Hugh, I'm new here so like you I'm not in any kind of position to pass comment on the caliber of people here. What I do know is that the car you're talking about is a Marcos Mantis. As a classic Mini enthusiast I'm familiar with the Marcos Engineering. The Mantis used a simple box section chassis, the centre of which vaguely resembles the backbone of an Esprit, but the construction is totally different. Again like you I believe your buyer (if they exist) doesn't spend too much time on rationale because imo to build a Marcos replica from the ground up it'd be easier and certainly better to begin with a stock of steel and a decent welding plant - which they'll need anyway. Your lot as a prospect for one good car, was a bad one. It was the kind of lot (and price) that would only be of interest to a Lotus fanatic if say one of the car's had some sort of extraordinary pedigree. In terms of parts, neither car had much going for them, certainly not £2k's worth - most of the good S2 stuff being compromised by heat, and most of the good Turbo stuff having been previously removed. A digital clock is not worth the premium you loaded on. The fact is you knew you were asking too much for a pair of scrappers that have only worsened while you've had them, hence your overly defensive reaction to a handful of harmless and frankly restrained comments on here. The fact that you had the hard neck to come on here to peddle them, evidently knowing that it was well understood what you'd paid for them, and when also evident was the fact that no one had posted a link to your listing when the ebay bot hadn't picked it up, suggests that you're the troll. Most guys here would have memberships on other forums, you know damn well the reaction you got here was mature and bloody friendly by comparison to some. You withdrew your listing from ebay. As I see it there are three possible scenarios here. 1. You cut your losses and sold the Turbo chassis which is arguably the only thing of any substantial value, and have been left with the remainder. 2. You were contacted by a would be buyer privately via ebay. Or 3. Just as (un)likely, you got some interest here. Either of the latter two being the case you certainly would have had to throw your £2.1k bottom line out the window. I can't imagine someone building a Marcos chassis would bother with the expense and effort of trying to do so around an Esprit chassis. I can't imagine any Lotus owner would pay your bottom line, and I highly doubt anyone who had the wherewithal to properly assess your photos would have come to the conclusion that they were a worthwhile lot at the price. Here's the Poirot part... I believe that you realised you were literally flogging a pair of dead donkeys, but your ego wouldn't allow you admit folly and do the upstanding and productive thing which would be to offer to break the cars. So you withdrew your ad having concocted a far fetched story which in happy coincidence has the option of parts being available. So listen, never mind the bollocks... how much for the two front Speedlines, the S2's mirrors and it's light pods please?

I have balls of steel when it comes to projects and always feel sorry for old lotus esprit's as restoration projects and basket cases I find a certain charm in them.
