plan on buying an esprit!

i am looking to puchase a lotus esprit i definatly want a v8 , i have talked to a few people and they said stay away from the 97 to 99 cause of the piston liners ,so im looking for a 2000 and up is there any thing else i should be aware of and any problems , this car is not gonna be driven a whole lot , but i dont want to buy one and them dump a whole ton of money in to it either, is there any one on here that has had very few probems with there car i have been hearing a lot of negative stuff abouth these cars but i ihave always wanted on and love the way they look . thanks should i buy one with really low miles or something that has been driven lets say around 25 k mles
