S1 S2 Tyre pressures

Recommended Posts

Has anyone come to a conclusion about what tyre pressures are ideal for S1 S2s? I had 28psi all round until today when I discovered the workshop manual says 18psi for the fronts. I took the extra air out of the fronts and I now get squealing tyres on roundabouts at legal speeds so might put some air back in....

I used to run 22-23 on the front and 28-30 on the rear of my S2 JPS.  I fount it to handle well at track events and maneuvering at car park speeds was greatly improved. 18 is definitely too low for the front IMHO and made it a real bear parking.   -Bob.

I think it all depends on the tyres you have fitted. I used to run the 18 front 27 rear with but the current tyres seem to prefer 25 front 28 rear. I have the protech adjustable dampers all round too. I think it's a case of horses for courses, experiment until you find the best setting for you and your tyres.
