Lotus Exige 360 Cup

Well it looks like Lotus listened:

+10 HP and Ohlins race dampers. Extra power from the new exhaust, wonder if it can be retrofitted to any Exige V6?

Not sure about the paint job though!

I generally like the look, bar the red wheels. I really like the louvred boot lid and new access panel. (hmm I wonder what would look like painted body colour... ;) )

As for the extra 10hp, I'm not sure I'd notice, but improved exhaust note sounds interesting.   (Though I'm _really_ tempted to go the 2bular route at the moment!)

It's a nice minor refresh. No revelation, but still a performance bargain compared to other 'obvious' rivals. I like he rear cover, that will be a significant weight saving.

Ohlin dampers stated as optional, but then they were before anyway. Hey one day, we might see some forged wheels on an Exige...I was hoping this would feature them!

Where's the fire extinguisher and electrical cuttoffs gone? Not standard anymore?

^^ I guess we'll have to wait for the Cup R for these.

This one looks like a real road version aimed at a certain german GT4...

I sort of expect the same on the Elise 220 Cup soon ...

I am sure the price is significantly lower than the Cup usually - I thought it was in the region of £67k, maybe they are an option now, was about £2.5k option IIRC on the Elise Cup (not standard there either).

Or maybe they just forgot to put them on the car - would not be the first time

I believe  the 10 HP comes from a combination of induction and exhaust with a slight re-tune of the ECU, as done on the CupR.  ;)

I'm sure they'd do the remap and induction as a small upgrade pack :)

I like my exhaust so would leave that as is :D

I love it! I think it looks awesome. I think they should have gone for the CupR air box as well for good measure (if that was possible) which makes another 6 bhp. Cup is looking even better value now. I really like the new front access panel, rear louvred panel, the red detailing and metallic red wheels look great. Nice work Lotus!

I'm quite relieved they don't offer it in Motorsport Green... phew! I get the impression that the next few years will see no end of temptations released by the factory.

Looks really good, especially from behind with the dual exhaust pipes and the rear panel.

:unworthy:

Only thing I think could have improved it slightly is if they would have skipped the "360 Cup" logo on the right-hand side of the front panel (or at least made it smaller) as it disturbs the clean design for me a bit, plus (I think) I would have liked to have the mirrors painted in the same metallic red as the wheels to make that red color stand out even more as it works so well. The red contrasting color just looks great to me. Especially in the pictures of the rear where the red rear lights blend in making the color effect even stronger.

But overall, great job and a clever move by Lotus which can hopefully bump the sales of the current Exige Cup.

Where is the intercooler of the 3/11 ??

I believe the charge cooler is sandwiched between the blower and intake. ;)

I'm curious as how and where the extra radiators are packaged for the charge cooler and how the overall cooling system will function in hot weather conditions.

Yes I think it's a great mid-life update. I have the benefit of knowing how good the Cup cars are already!

Really liked the Evora 400 too. Especially the new interior.

Really liked the sound of the 400 and was nice inside. It certainly sounds good as you blip the throttle - in an Exige it will be something else :-)

I think the 360 sat by the all Carbon GTE Evora took the shine of it!

(Lee, that wasn't you that followed me up the A10 by any chance was it?)
