Been looking around for a month now and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of S4's out there. Been looking for a decent S4 for a bit and one or two have popped up but nothing fantasic.........

Anyone know of anything decent for sale at the moment? Always on esprit4sale, pistonheads, trader etc etc but not a great deal out there

Cheers

Try Paul Matty. He did have two S4's in and a very nice S4s. You'll pay dealers prices but you'll get the warranty etc.

i don't think GLYN HERRON has sold his S4s yet, i would have brought it off him but i need to sell my car first.

[edit]

i just noticed that your previous post regarding your search for a car has been closed, this is due to you already stating the same question in the newbies section. multiple posting of the same question can fill a forum of this size quite quickly, so is frowned upon.

there are some regular posters (like me) that are on a lot of the time, but there is also other members that may only check once a week, i which case they have hundreds of posts to check through, so double posting just adds to the time needed to sort through them.

the not so frequent posters may also be the members who have your answers, so please be patient

OMG  that sounded like a right telling off

It wasn't, honest :):)

are you sure you wouldn't like a nice Dry sump s3turbo with rare standard split-rim compomotive wheels instead :(

Been on few times, looks like the yellow S4 has gone and 17k seems a hell of a lot for the other

Cheers

Have you been to look at the black S4 at Paul Mattys? if not go have a look, take a drive, check the history and then check out the 3 month no quibble warranty you will get... then maybe you might think the price a bit more reasonable, sure Paul Matty prices are usually a bit higher than the rest of the marketplace , but he does sell some very nice cars

...3 month no quibble warranty...

I'll second that! I bought my S4 from Matty's, and by the end of 3 months, he had replaced my exhaust manifold, fixed an exhaust leak, changed an oil cooler and replaced the engine radiator - all under warranty, and without a quibble in sight.

3 Months doesn't seem like a great length of time for a warranty, is this quite common or is it only me that thinks that???

Is the 3 months extendable at extra cost? If it is, anyone know what sort of prices he charges

Bottom line is keep your eyes peeled for the one you really want. For most of us this was our dream car...so get the exact one you want. I too wanted an S4 and waited nearly 2 years to find a perfect car in the color combo I wanted.....the saying always goes you get what you pay for ....a cheap auction car will drive like a cheap auction car...

Good luck with your search ....it defintely adds to the great experience.

the warranty is what he gives you when you buy a car from him, no paperwork just a handshake, he wins on some and loses on others, I had my aircon regassed and some work done on the front anti roll bar when I bought my car from him and excellent service ever since, Paul Matty has a reputation built over many years and I am sure he has Lotus in his blood. Some people think he is a bit expensive, but I think he is only trying to keep the value of our cars up.

My thoughts exactley, the only esprit i am interested in owning is an S4 and the only other i would consider is a GT3!!!!! The two colours i would choose over any other are first, yellow and second modina green..................

The yellow S4s in Matty's is 18k i think but the one i was taliking about was the black S4 which he has up for
