I hope they keep the double canards on the front (as on the grey Nurburgring car), looks great like that.

are these canards even road legal ? pedestrian safety and such...

I just hope they don't ruin the design of the road version with a tiny spoiler. The law requires that the wing/spoiler does not exceed the cabin width.

I also noticed the rear diffuser is much bigger on the Nurburgring car, the first 311 had a central exhaust much like the Exige has currently. The Nurburgring car has a higher mounted one to the right of the number plate. This must be the full race version but I'm sure it would be easy to fit on a road version after registration. I did hear that fitting the CupR canards to an Exige isn't cheap though...

pretty sure its more than that to do after registration, the car has to be drilled too and I think the front clam might even need to be removed...

definitely worth doing while the car is at Motorsport!

how exactly are the canards fixed ? are they glued, riveted or bolted ?

Bolted

Mine's being done at PDI. It's just drilling with the front arch liners off, I believe. Price confirmed with Jamie at time of ordering. He showed me his screen when pricing up my order, that's what it cost on a previous car they've done.

Even if it is a clam off, there's no real benefit to be had getting it done at Motorsport because of the slightly odd process that is taken on the Cups. Without wanting to hijack this thread too much, the car arrives from the main line to Motorsport 80% or so finished, with both clams on, so for the case of the CupR wing especially, the clam still has to come off, even on a new build. This is why it would still cost me £7k to get the full kit on my new Cup, as half of that is labour at Motorsport to get the rear clam off to fit the wing.

You can follow process inthe gallery below, you can see the car is on the main production line with the clams on and standard glass engine cover, and is then registered at the factory before arriving at Motorsport (something Jamie explained he has to do with mine), the Cup bits are then fitted, and rear clam then comes off to fit the CupR kit. Don't know if this is a new process since yours was made.

The rear diffuser on the prototype 311 is the 6 strake one off the evora gt4.

They do 2 types, one with 4 strakes (lotus own) and the other has 6 strakes (manufactured by A F Corse).Full carbon they are both expensive but the AF one is ridiculous.

4 strake = £2000 approx.

6 strake = £5000 approx.

Regarding the canards on the CupR exige. I don't believe they offer much, if any noticable downforce. From what I was told they are there simply to clean the airstream up going down the sides of the car and into the sidepod ducts... really not worth the money to fit them.

ouch!

no I wouldn't expect the CupR canards to do anything except look cool, which they do very well.

Very interesting. Here are two photos of the diffusors installed on the GT4 for comparison :

Is there much difference between 4 and 6 fins, performance wise ?

Also just noticed that the GT4 in the first photo has one exhaust tip while on the second photo it has two.

6 fin better do something for an extra £3000!

Somehow I very much doubt it would make any difference I could notice anyway.
