Works perfectly fine with the standard valved exhaust, you can still retain the open and off function, everything works as normal. You basically attach the end of the pipe from old air box to one of the nobly things off the engine/supercharger. Alternately bung the pipe and you're always open. Super easy :)

If there's no provision for a vacuum line take-off on the CAI (apologies, not familiar with what's available), then you will be able to retain the standard exhaust. The backbox valve's default state without the precence of a vacuum is to be sprung open, which is the safe state for engine operation.

Looking at the different CAI kits available the SSC one seems a good option, has anyone fitted one of these. It includes HKS filter, two alloy pipes, two silicone hoses and four clips.

SSC induction kit ordered and 2bular track exhaust due at the end of January.

Looking forward to getting these fitted before Anglesey t/d. Plus need to get a front tow eye bought and fitted B-)

Sounds like a nice couple of choices there! Has anyone on here got an SSC V6 induction kit already or got any good reviews?

Also I see that the SSC induction kit for the V6 is 455 AUD (~£225). What do you expect delivery and import to be on top?

Don't know really, but I was told that if I wanted to do track days the 2bular road version would be no good. Plus the track one is so much lighter. Getting rid of the heavy weight air box and plumbing should help too.

I will obviously keep the original items for refitting if I ever sell the car.

I have had loud exhausts in the past and found them very tiring on longer journeys. The 2bular track system came recommend from someone that has fitted a few, so went with the advice.

We've got the Komo-Tec V6 exhaust in our online store now...  just saying! :)

Looks and sounds a great exhaust Dave :)

Very similar price to the 2bular track system too, but I like the carbon twin tips of the 2bular B-) Should look good on the LF1.

The LF1 can't fail to look good :)

Thanks Dave :)

I must admit, I really like my LF1 and not in any rush to swap it for anything else.

CAI kit is now in the UK, awaiting customs approval (more expense no doubt)

C'mon, you mean you've not got it fitted and tested out on your private test track yet??? We're all waiting here... :P Haha.

Just joking mate. I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on with it and hopefully no EML issues with it! Was was the total cost in the end anyway mate?
