GTK
A trio of shoe boxes that is the history of every car I've owned has just gotten a redistribution to come nice neat box files and in the clear out I found a sheet of paper detailing an S2.2 I considered buying in 2002! Given the rarity I thought I might be able to find out what ever happened to it... just for kicks. Either way thought it was interesting in terms of values and the market. My notes say the following: 1981 W reg. Matching engine and chassis numbers Speedlines present "several" previous owners Midnight blue (paint/lacquer lifting) Carpet replaced (or possibly needed to be replaced) No previous work done Located in Marlborough "Bought from a guy in work" 100k miles Sitting for 2/3 years Auction started 4th Nov. 2002 By the looks of what I've written I actually spoke to the seller. I was serious about buying the car but I remember that between the way the auction went and exchange rate I thought the price became inflated. Also on the sheet is my exchange rate calculations for various prices up to my limit. My calculations start at Stg.£1,800 so that's obviously where the auction was when I first saw it. I have a memory if it selling for Stg.£3,300, I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure. Obviously in hindsight I should have bought it
Bibs
In bad nick and in Malborough, that will have been Nick Warren. Not known for the quality of his cars or indeed dealings from what I heard. GTK
Aha, that'd explain why the name Nick Warren is written on the sheet of paper, I mistook it for a non related bit of business.

GTK
Speaking of Douglas Valley, what is the craic with "Óooooooooó" included at the end of some of their auction titles?
Mark Blanchard
He sold plenty of wrecks on ebay. However, he did give me some useful advice about buying Esprits back in 2001, so he's not all bad. I took it and I bought a reliable car . TAR
I bought a dry sump pump from Nick about 10 years ago. He was friendly and I thought I got a good deal. I haven't seen much Lotus stuff for sale from him lately. Quote It's getting there......
espritmayhem
Hi George, It was me , Nick , selling the car, i have no idea who brought it and where it went, many of my earlier cars went abroad at that time. It came from a forum member who I worked with, cannot remember name, he has S4S and Toyotal Supra, still see the S4S nearby to me. Stil have several Esprits, TVR's, Lancia Montecarlos, Integrales and EVO's, - last count was 50 odd Regards
